On reading the statement the penny dropped.

In my opinion the only reason to spew out this publication at the moment is that it’s being sent to London to try and take my website down (Again!). Are they having extra encouragement to do this at the moment I wonder?
As I keep saying I will vehemently defend my freedom of speech. I won’t burden myself with further costs and I won’t lose any sleep but thanks for the heads up anyway. Any interruption will be temporary. Print that out and attach as well.

Cyprus has already violated my Human Rights on Article 17 (Right to Property) Article 38 (Consumer Protection) Article 41 (Right to Good Administration) Yesterday I sent my case to 22 MEP’s for Europe and the responses are coming in.

I'll post your statement on the other forums for you. No need to make up any more accounts.

I think this is an immediate reaction to what's in this article.
http://www.thelondondailynews.com/cypriot-developer-charged-with-p-629.html

I've only skimmed the document but I already have to inform you Marios that your pants are on fire.

The statement has about as much credibility as the membership logos you displayed on your website had. You were not members you're a liar born and bred.

Has it not sunk in yet that one day you will have to stand up in a law court and show proof of these paragraphs which are absolute bunk!. Putting a stamp on something doesn't make it true and will not take the heat off you this weekend or at future demonstrations. I'm not intimidated by you and will continue to defend my right to free speech. LB.com is my true story of buying property in Cyprus. As I said to Fotos Pittadjis "you picked on the wrong idiot"

You will be investigated eventually. As the article above shows your friends list will have to reach some high up places.

I'm too busy in London at the moment to pull your statement apart now. Thanks for the extra footage which will all help to seal your fate as a Lying Builder.

If whoever represents you now is sending this by post please do so on soft paper so I can wipe my ar*e with it.

Coordinator's Office, Myanmar, UN agencies, UNDAC, regional humanitarian

I. SITUATION IN MYANMAR

1. Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar on 2 and 3
May 2008, making landfall in Ayeyarwady
Division and directly hitting the country's
largest city, Yangon. 40 townships in Yangon
Division and 7 townships in Ayeyarwady
Division remain on the Government's list of
disaster areas.

2. Assessment teams have reported major damage
in affected areas, particularly the low-lying
delta region, where the Cyclone's impact was
compounded by a storm surge. The delta
townships of Labutta, Bogale and
Mawlamyinegyun were especially heavily hit.
The official death toll now stands at 31,938,
with 29,770 missing. Unofficial estimates are
considerably higher. Based on the original
Government figure of 975,858 persons affected
three days after the disaster in the eight
most seriously hit townships, it is estimated
that at least 1,500,000 people are severely
affected.

3. Food, shelter, medical supplies and water
are all critical needs. The early
rehabilitation of farmers has also been
identified as being crucial, as the affected
area is an important rice-growing area. People
are now reported to have begun migrating
outwards from the most affected areas in
search of basic necessities while others are
stranded in areas of the delta without
drinking water, food or shelter. The movement
of affected populations is rendering some of
the assessment data out-of-date. Damaged
infrastructure and communications, as well as
flooding, pose serious logistical challenges
for relief efforts. Weather reports for
affected areas in the coming days continue to
be unfavourable, with heavy rainfall
predicted.

4. Flights carrying relief items have been
getting in to the country, and the Government
and humanitarian partners are reaching an
increasing number of affected persons.
However, the levels of aid getting in to the
country remain far below what is required to
meet the needs on the ground.

II. NATIONAL RESPONSE

5. State media reported on 12 May that a total
of 9,330 cyclone victims have been evacuated
from the worst-hit parts of the southwest of
Ayeyarwady Division to relief sites in Maubin,
Wakema and Myaungmya townships.

6. The Myanmar Minister of National Planning
and Economic Development has now stated that
aid from any nation will be accepted and that
delivery of relief goods can be handled by
local organisations and people working in
international agencies provided this is
carried out in cooperation with the
Government. The movement of international
relief workers to the disaster-hit areas is
still restricted.

SPURS V LIVERPOOL

We bade farewell to season 2007-08 with a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at the Lane.

Wearing next season's kit, the team were well in what was pretty much an even, if largely uneventful contest, until Andriy Voronin gave the visitors the lead deep into the second half. Fernando Torres doubled the advantage and Liverpool finished with a win.

It was a sluggish beginning in the sun until Voronin worked Radek Cerny for the first time towards the ten minute work with a smart volley. The Czech then needed strong palms to divert Ryan Babel's fierce drive to safety.

Jermaine Jenas and Dimitar Berbatov combined on 15 minutes to provide half a chance for Robbie Keane but, from the Bulgarian's flick, Pepe Reina just beat the striker to the punch.

The next time either of the goalkeepers was in action was 25 minutes in when Reina stopped to fingertip away a powerful header from Berbatov that was snaking inside the right hand post.

In truth, however, the game meandered towards the break with neither side getting a grip of the game or in any way dictating.

There was a double change at half-time with the introduction of both Tom Huddlestone and Teemu Tainio, with Jenas and Jamie O'Hara making way, but it was Torres who nearly seized the lead following a burst from Steven Gerrard. The Spanish international picked his spot and it took the feet of Cerny to prevent him adding to his prolific Premier League total.

Keane had the chance to add to his at the other end after Steed Malbranque teed him up with a throughball to the left of the area, but the striker dragged his shot across goal. A big cheer went up with news of West Ham losing at home to Aston Villa and it roused the crowd to push the team on for a possible 10th place finish.

Gerrard dipped an effort just over the bar after good work from Javier Mascherano, with Liverpool having already drafted Yossi Benayoun from the bench. Malbranque, moments later, rattled the side netting.

The deadlock was broken on 69 when a Torres flick on allowed Voronin to squeeze in behind Alan Hutton and toe-poked beyond Cerny. Four minutes later it was two when Benayoun fed Torres, who advanced and beat Michael Dawson before prodding past Cerny. Torres could have made it two with a similar run a couple of minutes later.

Cerny was called into action to save off his own player when a Gerrard cross was nodded towards the top corner by Hutton before Torres struck the bar with an effort from outside the area.

Cerny then did well to palm away from Benayoun before Tainio hammered our final shot of the season into Paxton Road.

Hi All,

I'm pleased this story was covered in the Cyprus Mail on Saturday.

I’ve just finished a new YouTube regarding this event.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIwM0pCiq9w

I have released letters today on my website that were previously sent to the Attorney General. There is also a letter I sent to the High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus (London) and all Cypriot desks at foreign offices etc...

Thanks, to all those who have already confirmed for Sunday. Many are coming for their own property rights.

I have to update the thread concerning my last assault soon. AGAIN the local authorities are up to tricks. The hospital tests were back on Friday showing Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). I have been reassured that the ABH will be brought back to GBH (and the robbery charge) but I have heard these assurances before and that’s why I’ll be front and centre at the weekend.

I’m really pressing the MEP’s and the media this week. We are making progress.

Kind Regards
Conor.

:

My parents "retired" to Cyprus in 1984. At least since that time , there have been water shortages in Kyrenia, especially in the summer. This is NOT a new problem but it's caught the public imagination now.

People still sluice their front steps with water and cool down their patios with yet more of this hard to come by commodity.

If my memory serves me correctly, a fiasco whereby water was towed in balloons from Turkey was started in the mid 90's. I say fiasco since after more than 18 months of work on the project, when the first "balloon" was towed to the discharge point it was discovered that the couplings on the pipes didn't match, and so the "balloon" was towed away again.

This known water shortage hasn't stopped developers building a great number of houses with swimming pools. But presumably someone in authority gave permission to do this.

I'm afraid, these days, the Cypriot mentality boils down to "I'm alright Jack, so screw you", unless they have the problem. Then its a different story.

To illustrate this point, yesterday, around twenty people, teachers and students were collecting LITTER from a "Protected Area" of natural beauty. Students were a mix of Cypriot and Turkish Nationals. After about an hour and a half of effort, a Cypriot student had a break and sat down to open a pack of cigarettes. This student then threw the cellophane wrapping and silver paper on the ground. The point of the exercise seemed to have eluded this student.
It is still about power, control, possession. It leaves the Lebanese as victims of an ideological struggle that is won when people reason, but is a bloody campaign because our ignorance continues abated for land, as though it is to be plundered.

The dog died of its injuries. He recorded his horrific act, while laughing hysterically, and put his video on YouTube. Until now no charges have been made against him and most likely none will be made. It is un believable and unheard of that animals have to suffer in silence because the law still does not support animal welfare and you get away with anything you do. Good on you mate, great initiative. The developers in Cyprus are the biggest idiots of our society. They do all sorts of illegal things in order to make there money.

1. They bought agricultural land and through someone in the gov they managed to register it as residential and build 'villas' for migrants from the UK mainly.

2. They build wherever they find a piece of land and aesthetically Cyprus became disgusting with all the irregular development

3. In the North they made development on the stolen land of GCs

4. And worst they break their agreements, they think that the poor foreigner shit the money and that they have the right to take advantage of it

and as long as they find other foreign ignorant people to buy such properties, they will continue doing the same crimes again and again.
I am with you Conor 100%

Hi all,
I’m Conor from the LyingBuilder website.
President Christofias will address the Cypriot Community at 3pm 18th May Alexandra Palace London.

We will be there to protest the handling of our case and to raise awareness of property problems suffered in Cyprus. Problems range from the non-issuing of title deeds, structural faults, illegal building and developers extorting immovable property tax and transfer fees.

In my particular horror the Minister of Interior told the media “an Investigating Officer has already been appointed” That was in August 2007! Since then I’ve been brutally beaten for just looking at my house from the roadside in Frenaros. Every month my lawyer Yiannos Georgiades chases the authorities for a criminal investigation into the reselling of my house and every month it’s the same. It’s stuck at the local level.

In the latest twist in my saga a lawyer who once represented us in the case is now representing the opposition. I will of course report this matter to the attorney general for disciplinary proceedings but as I have little faith in the speed of that investigation I have exposed the lawyer myself on my website.

If you have retired to Cyprus and are concerned that your children will inherit the problems of your contract like the non-issuing of your title deeds, then why not ask them to join us. It’s not just ex-pats that are suffering. I’m contacted all the time from the Greek Cypriot community who are disgusted with the way developers and lawyers are behaving and the bad reputation they are giving the island we all love. If you can be represented in London then please get in touch.

Kind Regards
Conor O’Dwyer

READING V SPURS

Robbie Keane boosted his tally to a personal best of 23 with the goal that defeated Reading on Saturday.

That this fixture remained a contest until the final whistle is one of the mysteries of this game as it should have been over and out at the end of the first half completely dominated by the team in yellow. As it turned out, Reading clung on and remained in contention, meaning an uncomfortable last ten minutes or so.

You could sense the tension inside the Madejski Stadium where you got the feeling that focus was divided between here and events by the Thames to the west of London. Not that the Reading people weren't cranking up the noise in a bid to inspire their team, the stands were a sea of blue and white stripes.

The more composed and constructive football early came from the team in all yellow in what was a surprisingly open contest with plenty of space to ping passes around in midfield. Tom Huddlestone did just that when he picked out the run of Steed Malbranque down the left flank. After a little scurry the Frenchman arrowed over a cross that clipped the head of a launching Darren Bent.

Minutes later the dangerous Bent powered his through, again from the prompting of Malbranque, and picked his spot, only for the outstretched foot of Marcus Hahnemann to deny him an opener. A Huddlestone cut back then allowed Malbranque to try the unusual and drag the ball backwards in front of goal, but the Reading rearguard were alert to the situation.

With 15 minutes on the clock Bent brilliantly stretched his legs again and surge away from home side attentions before spiriting the ball into the path of Keane, who jinked inside before prodding past Hahnemann low to the goalkeeper's left. It was a sweet move superbly executed that resulted in a personal best for skipper.

Hahnemann athletically thwarted Keane from a free-kick just outside the area after Malbranque was chopped down by Andre Bikey before a brilliant passage of play ended with Keane slipping through to Malbranque who calmly curled past Hahnemann. He was clearly onside but the flag was raised.

Reading were all at sea and the destination of the points should have been determined inside the first 30 minutes. Keane should have made it two minutes before the break when the industrious Malbranque unlocked the gate for the striker to pit his wits against Hahnemann, but a late Liam Rosenior challenge was enough to knock his effort off course.

The advantage could have been doubled in the first moments of the second half when Alan Hutton picked out Keane in the area, the striker drilling across goal to where Malbranque was sliding in at the far post. It was the side netting that was shaking and Reading were given another lifeline.

Bent looked like adding his name to the scoresheet when Keane and Jermaine Jenas combined to present him with an opening in front of Hahnemann, only for a last-ditch lunge from Nicky Shorey that spared his goalkeeper.

At the other end, in a rare sortie forward, Leroy Lita finally warmed the hands of Radek Cerny with shooting from an angle his only option with support slow in support. The head of Didier Zokora then got in the way of a decent looking shot from Bikey that could well have made its way into the top corner without his intervention.

Just past the hour mark Jamie O'Hara was introduced in place of Tom Huddlestone and he almost made an immediate impact with a raking left foot cross that just had Bent stretching his neck a little too much. Substitute Marek Matejovsky sidefooted narrowly wide as Reading roused a little going into the final 20 minutes.

Steve Coppell's side began to crank it up as the stakes were increased with news that Fulham had taken the lead against Birmingham at Craven Cottage but Bent caught them on the break and smashed in a low drive that came off the inside of the post and to safety.

Kevin Prince Boateng took the place of Keane with 14 minutes left on the clock, but the next Spurs player in significant action was Cerny who reacted smartly to his right to thwart Dave Kitson inside the final five minutes. He then saved brilliantly to his left to claw away Rosenior's goalbound strike.

welcome panay, you are to expect that your opinion will naturally cross with others when presented in a terse manner.

my hope is that you will not increase the tone inflaming the senses that we have and that come from our own pain. please remember, even the settlers, for the most part are victims too.

only few who still have this power over us, support this isolation from each other, above all do not despair, we are this island's dwellers. we are the stewads of a Heritance older than our specific cultures, we are all close to our land, yet they organise themselves better to sustain their exclusive domain overwhich there are many who would serve them. (Greek and/or Turk)

you do no better with talk that only encourages the same provocation, which is nothing more than a game, and in the spirit of great men like King or Ghandi, or even Jesus Christ, there is a way. we can only emulate this courage by acting accordingly.

...against violence, they chose to act without it.

i suggest that we can be Cypriot, and for our cause, Cypriots first, even with a pride for our "Greekness" or our "Turkishness", to choose our love, to give it, rather than keep it for ourselves.

I am all eyes and ears about your explanation as to how you can brand this one-sided nonsense as "excellent reporting". Specifically, when it states that the island was divided in 1974 when in reality it was divided since 1964, when it gives Andri`s perception of the border but mentions nothing of Cavide`s, when it talks about Andri`s displacement a few hours south in Cyprus but mentions nothing about how and where Cavide was living for the 11 years before Andri was displaced, when Andri`s church is visited but Cahide`s mosque is not even mentioned? It`ll tell you about how Andri mourns her losses but does not even bother to ask if Cavide has any. You`ll hear how Andri feels that where Cahide lives is her home but you will hear nothing about Cavide living in an enclave for years embargoed from even infant medicine and left without running water. It will tell you about how Greek Cypriots were displaced but did you hear any description of events before 1974 in Cyprus in this "excellent reporting"? It will tell you that the Turkish soldiers intervened in 1974, but you hear nothing about the Greek Cypriot National Guard units patrolling and/or attacking Cavide`s enclave with thousands of Greek troops invited to the island before any Turkish troop was there?

I am all for searching and finding that common ground in Cyprus for a solution, but I assure you that we will find none with a partial mindset reflected in this partial junk. As a Turkish Cypriot myself, I feel humiliated and degraded to say the least to see videos like this getting applauded by other Turkish Cypriots.

Don't waste your breath. These forums have been reduced to "intellectuals" who argue back and forth, yet do not get off their collective asses to do, or, influence ANYTHING. It's the same old regurgitated material. Good will without action.

That depends on what kind of a change you are anticipating. The conditions you reflect upon are those which we were enclaved and our only way out was either to submit to GC National Guard troops or agree to a "modified" RoC Constitution that would allow ENOSIS. Take my word for it: we, the TCs, will never give in to any amount of pressure or accept any agreements that would put us in similar conditions.

Well Panay, since Turkey came to Cyprus in 1571, Cyprus became Turkish, at least half Turkish half Greek so a national anthem if we can call it a national anthem since Cyprus is not a nation should be 18% in Turkish, 78% in Greek and 4% in other languages.

SPURS V BOLTON

A fourth 1-1 draw in a row was recorded at White Hart Lane as Luka Modric watched Steed Malbranque level the score after Bolton took a lead against the run of play early in the second half.

Despite the visitor's need for the points being far more acute, it was Juande Ramos' side who went all out for the win, with goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi making several crucial stops to keep it at three games unbeaten for his team in their bid to avoid the drop.

The opening stages were devoid of significant goalmouth action, bar a Robbie Keane effort from the edge of the area on an afternoon with more of an August feel to it than an April one. But spring it is and Bolton, with a packed support in the away end to bolster their survival instincts, were sure to prove resolute opponents with all to play for.

Steed Malbranque bent a shot just wide on 27 minutes as the team in white before Gilberto, making his full league debut, unleashed a shot that took Ali Al Habsi by surprise, the goalkeeper clutching on after the Brazilian tried his luck from 25-30 yards.

Modric was watching on from the Directors' Box as the team asserted control of a rapidly elapsing first half without really putting Al Habsi in a state of high alert.

He was though when a Gilberto free-kick took a deflection and rattled against the post on the stroke of half-time. Alan Hutton was replaced after the interval by Tom Huddlestone, with Didier Zokora dropping in at right-back.

It was a Bolton substitute who made an immediate impact. Stelios pouncing to score a minute after the break when failure to clear a low cross was punished, the Greek beating Radek Cerny to the ball.

The lead, thankfully, did not last too long and when Jermaine Jenas pushed the ball into Robbie Keane, the striker spun and shot. His effort deflected fortunately into the path of Malbraque, who steered low past Al Habsi.

Michael Dawson was immediately withdrawn, Huddlestone dropped in at centre half, Keane retreated into midfield and Darren Bent was introduced into attack.

Keane then came close to securing an advantage when a Berbatov cut back was met by the skipper, who jinked past a couple of challenges before pulling the trigger, only for the body of Al Habsi to rescue his side.

He wouldn't have had a prayer if Malbranque had hit the target with his far post volley from Keane's cross just before the hour mark.

Al Habsi did brilliantly to tip away Berbatov's arrowed low drive towards the bottom corner as the tide of pressure threatened to overwhelm the visitors. A Huddlestone throughball sent Bent clear but the bouncing ball favoured Al Habsi and the goalkeeper managed to grab.

The goalscorer Malbranque made way for Jamie O'Hara with 13 minutes left on the clock, but it was Jonathan Woodgate who next came close to troubling the scoreboard when he flashed a header just wide from an O'Hara corner.

Bent then watched in agony as Danny Guthrie cleared his header off the line and finally, in added time, Berbatov looked odds-on to bag the winner only to head O'Hara's free-kick over unmarked in front of goal. It was one of those days...
