Can anyone help a real internet philistine, please/

Hi. My husband and I have an apartment in Kissonerga which we will use, in the medium term, as a holiday home and plan to let it out as well. When we visit, we want to bring a laptop and connect to the net. We don't want to use a landline phone for this at all, because we don't want the phone line being there, available, for anyone who lets to plug in.

What I think must exist, but cannot find anything about it because I'm probably using the wrong words to search, is a wireless connection using a mobile phone, or something similar. Is this a possibilty? The other thing is that we would want pay as you go, because we won't be out there that much, at least in the short term.

I'd be glad of any responses, but please keep them simple because I am a nurse, not an IT expert!! Thank you so much.

Thank you very much for that; it looks interesting. Sorry for the delay in responding...we are just back home from 16 glorious days in Cyprus. Raining here! We asked around a bit and did get some suggestions, but could find nothing that didn't require a regular monthly subscription. So what you have found looks hopeful.
