Like in 2004 when there was an attempt to spring the Annan Plan(RIP) onto an unsuspecting Cypriot public we again see another filthy last minute deal that nobody really has had enough time to properly digest. Why isn't there a referendum on the Finnish model if it is so good?

Most international agreements Cyprus has had the misfortune of encountering inlcuding the 1960 agreements seem to be done at the last minute on the down low in dark backrooms where nobody can the screams.

The whole method is design to say HUH! you've signed it all over now! so piss off!

If the Cyprob is to be solved then the public need to know and have detailed discussions about what is being proposed.

I feel the need to use lice ointment when ever I read about the dirty way diplomats "negotiate".

Why are you worried? The secret meetings have usually worked in the Republic of Cyprus's favor. Would you mind expanding a bit s300? Thank you.

Did you not vote in these people to represent you??????

All and I mean all deals are struck in this way. They always go to the wire and if there is any publicity to be made from it there is a token signing for all to observe. You make it sound as if the Turks are better at fast deals than the Greeks and that is why these secret talks have been designed this way???????

No, all I am saying and I believe what s300 is saying is that it is better to give time for people to make a decision of what they really want.

What like last time ? Build the hopes up and then dash those same hopes.

We must never forget that we are Cypriots and the world does not take that much notice of us due to our size and Tpap must not forget that or he will be making political suiside when he Veto's Turkey. The game will be changing for good after that and he will be losing all his leverage over Turkey if and when Turkey is knocked back from joining the EU.

Who Loses ? US the People Crying or Very sad

In the coucil of minsiters and the EU in general (as well as most/all, legal/government/international organisations all do most of their deals in the background and over dinner. Hardly anything significant is ever discussed 'on the table' so to speak.
