Tell us how to count up to ten in Turkish. In Greek it's:
1 = ena
2 = thio
3 = tria
4 = tessera
5 = pente
6 =exi
7 = efta/epta
8 = ohto/okto
9 = ennia/ennea
10 = theka
Also learn us some basic greetings. Some Greek ones are:
Herete = Hello/goodbye (formal)
Ya sas = Hello/goodbye (plural/singular formal)
Ya sou = Hello/goodbye (singular/informal)
Kalimera = Good morning/good day
Kalispera = Good evening/afternoon
Kalinyhta = Good night
Ne = Yes
Ohi = No
Ti kanete? = How/what are you doing? (plural/singular formal)
Ti kanis? = How/what are you doing? (singular/informal)
Para poly kala = Very, very well/absolutely fantastic etc.
Poly kala = Very well
Kala = Well
Etsi ki etsi = So so
Asta = Bad
Ki esis? = And you? (plural/singular formal)
Ki esy? = And you? (singular/informal)
Efharisto = Thank you
Parakalo = Please/you're welcome
Hero poly = Pleased to meet you/how do you do
Harika poly = Pleased to have met you (used during farewell greetings after having met somebody for the first time)
S'areso? = Do you like me? (literally 'am I liking/pleasing to you)
M'aresis = I like you (literally 'you are liking/pleasing to me')
Se miso = I hate you
S'agapo = I love you
Se latrevo = I adore/worship you
As kanoume erota = Let's have sex
Ade gamisou = F*ck you
Sygnomi = Sorry/excuse me
Den pirazi = It doesn't matter
Entaxi = OK
The letters in bold show stress in the word.
When writing Turkish, please, please put the accents on the letters so we can pronounce them properly, i.e. put 'birleşmiş Kıbrıs' not 'birlesmis Kibris'. Also put the stress of the word in bold.
Thanks, ευχαριστώ, Teşekkür ederim!
