I am more puzzled by the fact that some people are puzzled because the international community does not throw Turkey out of Cyprus. Look at the UN as the main representative of the international community. First they issue resolutions condemning the continuation of the presence of the Turkish army in Cyprus and then in the same breath they call upon the two parts to work out a compromise.

As for the compromise, neither side is free of all blame...and as we should have aready learned: that any change that comes must be within ourselves, any resolution which comes from an external force, like any decree, would be anathema.

twofan, careful not to represent the Right Intolerant to Expression. if you feel that Turks are demonised because these people Petition for the removal of the Turkish Army from this Island then reconsider the desire all Mankind should have toward their Liberty. It is not enough to pick a side and fight for it, we are Human. Through our acts we choose to better our Humanity. Thus I do not find it appalling, this petition, but hopeful because although Greek, I am Cypriot. Being Greek or Turkish does not entitle any of us this Privilege, only Grace.

Firstly what will this achieve????? that the million other petitions before it which have been signed by many more people didn't??

But the Greek Cypriot have legal control of the whole island without its legal partner the Turkish Cypriot have they not benefited from this lol i would say they have benefited the most but thats my humble opinion for what its worth lol

As you are so into being rightous i eagerly await your petition my friend for kicking the Republic of Cyprus out of the EU which was against the cypriot constitution and the EU laws regarding a state joining who has 'border' issues etc. hence making Republic of Cyprus membership illegal and totally against the grain of what the EU stands for and its membership.

cent percent is an apologist who is stuck like most between being a Cypriot, who i have applauded, and rationalising what the Turkish State does because he is as proud to be Turkish.

this is not at all unlike the "Greeks" of Cyprus.

Our strength is Charity, Hope and Grace. Do not demean us by demonstrating the same intolerance as the interlocutors who hope to fight their battles by proxy because we are Grecophone or Turcophone.
