Hey I don't know if there are more F1 followers and if anyone watched the last race of the season. Well it was really adventurous with both Massa and Hamilton celbrating at the end only the first to find that he lost the championship as Hamilton overtook Timo Glock at the last bend of the last lap of the last race for the season, 18 seconds before the finish!!! How close was that.
Massa went to his home grand prix with 7championship points less than hamilton so he needed at least 7 points more to win the championship. So his could only had a good race and hope that Hamilton will finish at least in 6th position or less. Massa had a very good race and he was from the begining until the end at the front without being threatened at any point of the race. Hamilton started fourth, droped a few places after Alonso and Vettel had a better strategy and pitted first and changed the intermediate tyres when conditions improved. Then Hamilton overtook Trulli and gained 5th position and then took 4th position after Vettel went to the pits.
11 laps before the end everything looked good for Hamilton however rain changed the scenarios. Almost all drivers went to the pits to put on intermediate tyres. Timo Glock on of the drivers who didn't stayed in the track ahead of Hamilton who a lap later lost another position to Vettel who was faster towards the end of the race. The conditions were not so bad and Glock was clocking times faster than those with intermediate tyres. It looked like the championeship once again slipped away from Hamilton but all of a sudden the totally unexpected occured, Timo Glock slowed down dramadically and from 15 seconds ahead he was overtaken by Hamilton to give him the championship.
I am not sure if Glock has done that delibaretely or his tyres were indeed inappropriate for the wet conditions?!!
Anyhow Hamilton is the world champion and I don't know whether if one could say he was lucky because he was unlucky in the first place that it rained. He deserves to win a championship and he is the youngest to ever do so. I also feel sorry for Felipe, he got and he lost it just like that...Massa also shown great sportsmanship after his loss.
As for Glock if he stopped deliberately or not, it is a mystery. |

| From what I hear he did not do it on purpose. He was still on slicks and Hamilton had changed his tires. So Glock couldn't keep his speed. But then again I didn't follow Glock throughout his last lap so I wouldn't know whether he already lost speed earlier or if it was a 'sudden event' in the last bend. |
