Please check out my attempts to gain some response on the issues I raised at the beginning of this post below. Can anyone advise what progress is being made towards dealing with dog and cat neglect, bird trapping and litter. What a disasterous service I have received from the 'authorities'.

Dear Sir / Madam

Could one of your organisations please advise why I have not had one single acknowlegement nor response to my email, dated 11th September. This is wholly unacceptable and you should be ashamed to represent Cyrpus.

Once again, as a previous visitor to Cyprus with my valid concerns, I demand a response to my issues listed in my original email.

Yours faithfully

I think it is absolutely unacceptable that I have no response whatsoever from your organisations. I demand a response to these issues as a tourist having visited Cyprus.

Dear Sir / Madam

I recently visited Cyrpus and in a nutshell, I was completely upset and disappointed to see how much rubbish and fly tipping there was in Cyprus. What I do not understand is how this was allowed this to happen. You have such a beautifiul country ruined by this mess. Is this going to improve because I would certainly not want to visit Cyprus again. It was too disappointing to see.

I was also shocked at the welfare of cats and dogs in your country. What measures are there to deal with the stray cats and dogs (which are people's pets I presume) being run over by traffic. Also what measures are being used to tackle bird catching? All these activities do not represent a modern society.

I look forward to hearing from you

Yours faithfully

dear ms.fesses,

welcome. your concern is appreciated by people like me who respect this Patrimony as a part of the World's Heritage. i commend you, and i hope that someday you succeed, it is a long slog, muddle through, don't get your knickers in a knot, and remember, keep trying, and always be polite, stick to your mission, do not allow your personal feelings to get the better of you because all Ministries everywhere cannot ignore your query forever; if you are forthright, if not helpful. And don't forget they are the masters of their craft, they need you to loose it, so making you loose it, in simple terms is their expertise. The world needs you to pick up this cause, a small part but you started it, i'm not kidding, i am glad that the rubbish of Cyprus offends you.

as for pets, did you know that the household cat, was first domesticated as a pet in Cyprus, about 4000 years ago. If you go to Tekke in Larnaca you will find the most beautiful cats, they are wild and they are free, and there are those who take pleasure in caring for them.
cats are like humans, everybody and everything takes their chances when they are crossing the road in Cyprus, although ignorance, such as cruelty to animals, is anathema, reflecting badly on the society which spawns this behaviour.

Fesses, if you came to Cyprus as a visitor then why do you care? I mean personally I do care but I live here and don't get me wrong I am not trying to tell you off, I am just curious to see why you are so frustrated about the problem which is not a massive problem after all if I compare Cyprus to other countries in the world.

Littering and recycling in Cyprus is disgusting but about dog and cat neglect I don't understand.

Also one last thing, the most effective way to communicate a complain in Cyprus is not via email but in person or by phone

I found this article in politis today about animal rights in Cyprus etc.

Fesses you can get voluntary help from Protection of Animals Group, contact k. Νίκο Νικολαΐδη, @ tel. +357 99479857 or e-mail: nicosnicolaides@yahoo.com

Personally I consider my self to be an animal lover but I refuse to have pets because I don't want to take the freedom of animals and second I am against stirosis of animals because it is unatural.
