Hi,

This seems like the most appropriate place to post this (at least until I have a lot more material of the websites). I'm researching archaeologists' ethical responsibilities in conflict zones (primarily in Cyprus).

One of the larger parts of my research is on the treatment of cultural heritage on both sides of the Line and archaeologists' roles in that. I know material has been published on this (far more on the North than the South) and I don't want to reproduce it, but I would like to collect, check and present together both sides' claims of damage and destruction done to villages and historical and religious sites throughout the island.

(It would take me far longer than I have to document all claims, so I'm going to limit myself to the ones mentioned in official documents and the main "public" ones (the Committee for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Cyprus, etc. ones from the South and the Diplomatic Observer ones from the North.)

Although I think I'm only going to include those sites mentioned in the major documentation, I would like to include information, insights and narratives of those places' histories from as many sources as possible (from villagers and refugees I meet in person in the villages to diaspora members I meet online in Cypriot fora).

I can expand on that or discuss the other parts of my project, but they're not about the resources, as such. Time, internet, etc. permitting, I'm trying to put material in the public domain, on human rights archaeology (or sometimes on samarkeolog if it's not directly relevant).

(For example, at the moment, I'm trying to put up some basic historical and political backgrounders and notes on the situation in Cyprus (from the coup and invasion to the Grey Wolves (Bozkurtlar) to Golden Dawn (Chrysi Avgi)); but, when I say basic, I mean basic - sufficiently so for ksenous/yabancilar (particularly archaeologists) to understand.)

I'd be grateful for any comments, corrections or criticisms.

There are also links in the left sidebar to photoblogs for some of the villages that I have visited.

I realise that they are all formerly mixed or Turkish Cypriot villages so far (although there are a few posts in human rights archaeology and samarkeolog showing they're not all that I have visited), but there are lots of sites like Action Cyprus (that repulsewarrior mentioned) more than making up for it until I can correct my own pages' imbalance.
