nobody said its OK to build on "Turkish" land. Displaced people who built on land owned by Cypriots of turcophonic origin should not worry.

A long term leasing arrangement implies that a value has been established from which an owner could gain, it does not imply that the government has taken this land as its own.

TPap issues leases which allows the person living in the house some dignity, and it recognises that another is the owner. Better than the wholesale erasure of history that Turkey has foisted on the land they call Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
