At a special ceremony marking the event, Interior Minister Christos Patsalides said this was part of a wider drive to issue more than 6,000 title deeds by the end of the year.
Another 5,200 deeds would be made available in 2008.
Giving plots to refugee families has been a thorny issue for a number of years with delay after delay in separating large tracts of state land into hundreds of separate plots.
Some refugees have been waiting six or seven years after making an application. Part of the problem was due to lack of co-ordination between the different government departments.
Another cause for delay was land that needed to be divided into 700 plots but was pending because the area belongs to Turkish Cypriots. |
Nothing new in pre election 'gifts' to Greek Cypriot 'refugees'. However how does the Republic of Cyprus give title deeds to Greek Cypriot for land they claim is Turkish Cypriot? Have they bought this land from the pre 74 Turkish Cypriot owners? Does anyone have nay info on this ? |

Erolz there is only one ANSWER!
If the Republic of Cyprus has taken Turkish Cypriot land THEN take them to court!
ECHR will FRY the Republic of Cyprus but who will Fry the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus!
Personally if the Republic of Cyprus has taken Turkish Cypriot land then they are just (OR STARTING) to be corrupt as Denktash and his bastards in the NTH who has done this from the VERY FIRST DAY Turkey invaded Cyprus in 74!

| I agree with DP. There is the ECHR and if Republic of Cyprus is using Turkish Cypriot land indeed, they will face the concequences and the embarasment in the ECHR. |
