Today in a phone conversation with Cyprus a friend told me that a mass grave was found in the North with 33 Greek Cypriots of whom the youngest was 10 months old and the oldest 75.
Did anyone hear anything about this? |

Yep, I heard about this. It's from a village called Palaekythro (Balikesir) in the north. I'm not sure of the details but it's true that very young and old people killed by Turkish Cypriot militia in that village.
Actually, Sevgul Uludag wrote about this almost 3 years ago. For those who know Turkish, it's here:

See my friend, we're living with murderers in Cyprus on both sides... |

The shame, our real heroes, unfree, we fail them.
Without respect for each other as people no different from each other, and an acknowledgement of the failings produced by our respective societies, those who gain from this ignorance will continue to profit from its suffering.
land is Land, and it has to be given back to the Rightful Owner. Those that will be displaced, Settlers, as well as others will need homes as well.
rights are Rights, and beside our recognition for a Right of Return, we must recognise that two Peoples deserve to sustain their culture with their own form of self-representation, while they stand United, submitting to a Constitution and a State.
Mass graves, and for the ones who are laying in graves unknown, to do them Justice we must find Grace. |

another tragic story has been in today politis.
3 Greek Cypriot who were ordered to bury 5 Turkish Cypriot in 1964 shared their experience, and have also showed the place where they buried the people.
2 kids (4-6 years old) and most probably their parents and their grandmother.
the first Greek Cypriot was a soldier in 1964. he was ordered by local police to bury 5 Turkish Cypriot. he went to the place with another Greek Cypriot - a trackter driver who was supposed to bury them.
they were both shocked, when was faced with two dead babys, and could only cry while the track driver was so schocked that could not bury them, and left.
in the end another guy (who today is a priest!!!) did bury them, and finally 43 years later he took parashos to the place he buried them
uludag in the north and parashos in the south, seem to be doing a good job and more and more people seem willing to talk. if you have sth to share you can contact parashos here

...but the healing has started if there are men who say aloud, I am a part of a crime against Humanity, I did this, I saw this, but worst of all, I have kept quiet doing nothing for all this time.
bless them, forgive, them. |

I don't believe its their fault to forgive
these people were bred to hate. filled with warped views and encouraged (and to an extent forced) to bury the people.
there are some very strong psychological studies proving the lenght people would go to under the orders of an 'authority'
add a gun into the equation along with fear of being branded a traitor. No surprise at all |
