As Marina and a few others have recently highlighted, it has been far too serious in here lately so this is for you Marina and for all other romantics out there and for all other Dirty Dancing fans (can you believe the film is almost 20 years old?!).

They played "I've had the time of my life" on the radio this morning and mentioned a clip of a couple who reenacted the famous last dance on their wedding day so I looked it up. I think it's fantastic! So, so sweet..

Enjoy:

Bless them...that was really quite sweet...and what an original wedding Exclamation

I found the 'original' just for comparison, and I must say the wedding one is pretty good...in fact, I think I like it better... Wink

Smile How cool does Mr Swayze look as he says that?! Cool

Funnily enough I dragged out the movie last week and had forgotten just how much I like the film. Same with Moulin Rouge...Ewan and Nicole make a great couple in that film Smile

He does indeed look very cool...And he looks quite funky when he does his little solo piece..and it sure helps that he's so handsome.. Wink Cool

I love Dirty Dancing as well, my cousin used to have it on video and every time I went down her house we would always watch it, but then her dad taped over it with football, (and he doesn't even like football so I don't know what happened there! Shocked Laughing ) So I haven't watched it for ages unfortunately.... Sad

Although easy solution though, I'll just buy the DVD! Very Happy

You know I'm ashamed to say it, but I haven't actually watched Moulin Rouge, but again easy solution...I'll just buy the DVD! Yay! Laughing

I do like Baz Lurman, have you ever watched Strictly Ballroom? I sure do love that film! Oh and his 'Romeo and Juliet' was pretty good! (In my humble opinion anyway..Wink)

Thanks for the clip Cyp Rules Smile You should see the film, I thought it would be over rated but it was very, very good, especially the chemistry between Ewan and Nicole, and the music is excellent, you will end up buying the sound track as well.

I haven't seen Strictly Ballroom but I will look out for it. Have you seen the recent (ish) film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera by the way? I saw the theatre version and I was really disappointed with it but really enjoyed the film version - go figure! Somehow it worked better for me on the cinema screen than live on stage.

Thanks a million Leyla mou, that was really cute, flowers dont think I would have done quite a thing at my wedding but thats beside the point.
As for Phantom of the opera I also saw the original at the theatre years back and loved it. I thought I would buy my mum and dad tickets to see it to which pleased my mum but half way through the film my mum turned to my dad to see what he was doing and found him fast asleep on his chair!!! Can't please everyone can I!!!!. Smile

It's my pleasure guys Smile They look so happy don't they? Smile

Marina, the last time I took my father anywhere was around 1995 when I took my parents to the cinema! The man did not understand the concept of not talking during the film! When the people in front politely asked him to keep it down it nearly turned into a Cypriot village brawl!! For weeks he kept saying "how deyar those people ask me to shut my mouth"!!

My favourite theatre production is the Woman in Black (thriller)..it is brilliant, only 3 people in the cast and about 4 props..it is great!

Nice one Leyla. Did not really like Dirty dancing although I like Patrick Swayze. Love "The Moulin Rouge" though. It is a great show.

I have not seen "Woman in black" but have heard it is good. Have you seen "Les Miserables" or "Blood brothers". If so what did you think because I loved them. I have seen les Mis six times and Blood Bros three.

Aloha Zan Smile I haven't seen Les Mis or Blood Bros but I definately will get round to it. I have seen Woman in Black 5/6 times as well, it really is supurb.. it's a small theatre (Garrick) in Covent Garden and the atmosphere is just right. I prefer plays to musicals so I also enjoyed An Inspector Calls and The Mousetrap.

Ok having said that I really enjoyed Witches of Eastwick and Starlight Express! Notre Dame de Paris was also pretty good but for some reason I really didn't like Phantom at all (forgive me Marina!).

Nî hâo Leyla,

I will be booking my tickets for Woman in Black tomorrow thanks. I can see what you are saying about the "Phantom" because I too was a little disappointed by it. Should have gone when Micheal Crawford was in it. It must have been better than the version I saw. Les Miserables is a whole different ball game though. It is truly an epic and will make all other shows seem mediocre in production. Try to see the film or read the book before you go because the story line is fantastic and you will not get the full benefit if you don't know it. Strongly recommended!

Blood brothers is a good story too although on much less a budget. I have never really seen the Nolan sisters as great singing artists but the sisters that play the lead role at different times made me love them for their passion in the role. True professionals.

De nada Zan Smile Please let me know what you think! Here is an outline plot line if you haven't already had a chance to find out more about it:

http://www.audible.co.uk/aduk/store/productEntry.jsp?source_code=HILP0001WS112206UK&productID=BK_BARN_000001UK

I am ashamed to say I have yet to read the book (or series of books by Susan Hill) but I shall! Ok, looks like Les Mis is the one to see next - then Blood Bros Smile I haven't been to the theatre for a while now so a visit is well overdue!

Enjoy the play tomorrow! I think a 7th visit is due for that as well.
