I know this is pretty random, but I was quite bored the other day so I decided to browse youtube, after watching a few friends episodes and some of the outtakes (very funny) I noticed a link for Lord of the dance (Irish Dancing, Micheal Flately, slightly annoying Irish man...) and I remembered how much I loved it when I was younger. (My Yiayia used to have it on video and I would watch it every time I stayed down, plus does anyone remember the Lord of the dance craze when they did a live show at Hyde Park?) Anyway when I was watching it, I just kept thinking, HOW? How do they DO that with their feet? I mean are all Irish people born with detached feet or something....pretty amazing...

(And I always wanted that Girl in the red dresses hair...oh memories..Razz)

Don’t forget this was the face of Irish dancing before Flatley got hold of it. Little girls with traditional dress. They used to show this type on Blue Peter all the time.

And the story goes that Tap dancing came from Irish dancing as well. It was developed in America.

Exactly, that's the appeal, you could hide a ton of things in there, I mean if you decided one day that you fancied going on a sudden shop lifting spree, as you do, you have a perfect hiding place! Plus, forget purses or handbags, you could use your hair to carry your things in...it can be the new cleavage, you could stash your money in your hair instead, alla Marge Simpson... Laughing

No I think that's when big curly hair was in fashion, when I had straight/wavy hair and I used to use my mums curlers, then when curly hair was 'out' and dead straight hair was 'in' my hair decided it was going to turn into a big bush of curly hair! Now that's what I call annoying... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Question, why do Irish dancers have to have curly hair? Apparently you have to wear a curly haired wig...Hmmm....

found another one, and in this one Micheal Flately saves the day! Rolling Eyes Laughing

(I believe it's from the live show they did in Hyde Park..)

Laughing Laughing Don't talk to me about unruly hair! If I don't get the straightening tongs out it's 0 to ringlets in under 20 seconds.....

Lol...typical Cypriot hair! Don't worry Leyla, I feel your pain... Laughing

I don't often straighten my hair, too much hassle...but I do use a whole can of moose in an attempt to tame the 'frizz beast'...it works, but only just... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Oh yeah, that dude beats Micheal Flately hands down, that's for sure!! Laughing

It's funny though how it says 'Turkish star wars' and yet it has the Indiana Jones music in the background...Hmmm.... Laughing

Wow, 'the second biggest Afro in Leyton ey'? Pretty impressive I must say,...Maybe you me and Leyla should get together and set up the 'Frizz support group'? What do you think? Wink Smile
