Hi,

Ok, I have a question. Ive just started learning turkish and im a bit confused over the pronunciation of something.

I know that thank you is tesekkurler (or tesekkur ederim) but how do you pronounce the -ler part of tesekkurler. I've heard it pronounced exactly as it is written but ive noticed my turkish teacher says tesekkur-lache.

What is the most correct pronunciation? She also says "lache" for other words that end in -ler ( i cant remember any now though...)

Dear CY...Turkish is a phonetic language.Every letter is always pronounced as it is written. So once you learn how each letter is pronounced you can read whatever you like in Turkish.

Now "ler" : The "l" is pronounced as in level; and "er" is pronounced as in folder.Simple isn't it?

ler is never prounounced as lache, are you sure your teacher can speak Turkish???Cheers. Smile

Cypez...That sounds like the Turkish word (from Arabic origin) akibet
meaning "the fate" or "the end" of someone or something.
Does that make sense?
