HELP !!! Cyprus in the 40ies/50ies

Hi all, I didn't know where to put this, so its here now....

A friend approached me with a pretty weird request, probably thinking I know everything about Cyprus

She is looking for a hotel or a restaurant either in Nicosia or Girne (nothing sure here) that had been founded or headed by a german actress/author/dancer/singer back in the 40ies or 50ies.
Her name was Lotti Huber, or back then probably Lotti Kingby as she was married to a British officer. There is an article in the german Wikipedia only about her but that only mentions a restaurant in Nicosia. Nothing about Girne or a hotel. Other internet sources say the latter. So infos contradicting each other. The hotel was suposingly called Astoria.

My friend now wants to know where that place was, what it was, what it was called and if its still existing (under whatever name). Phewww!!!

Does any of you have any idea? Or maybe your parents/grandparents??

P.S. the bar/restaurant might have been called Octopus..
