Eh this is what I was afraid of.
Why do you need to drag racism into this?
OK, one thing for sure.. no need to make a big deal out of this. Feel free to call each other with whatever epithets you prefer... just don't go around making sweeping generalisations. |
What is it exactly you are afraid of Dream Merchant cos I'm not understanding....?
Where exactly has racism been mentioned??!!!
No ones making any big deal out of it - just having a little conversation about different races and genealogy. Do try to calm down. |

| My father refers to people or couples of a mixed background as "fruit salad"..in other words..people may be different, come in all shapes, sizes and colours but we are all "sweet" at heart.. |

That's so lovely
My race makes up only 0.4% of the population - we're a dying breed! |

I don't think I will get very far to be honest - it's taken me six years to do 300 years of mine and that's still full of holes!
I suppose I can probably get as far as great grandparents with a little help from my in-laws....it's a project in the making! |

if i am not mistaken macedonia in spanish means fruitsalat. and considering the level of multiculturalism that used to exist in the balkan region , the spanish seem to have found a great word for the a fruit salat. (hope spanish friends were saying the truth , and i am not making a fool of myself here )
on the point of this thread, there are some individuals that made such family trees for their village. i know that a guy, did that for my mums village. it goes as far back as the grabdfather of my grandfather , and it is done for a whole village.
so the best source would be a great-grandma, hopefully with a good state of mind till today. in such a case you should hurry up KLB. |
