Hey, I was just wandering why nearly all of the Byzantine dudes posts have been deleted, not that I always agree with the guy, but I've read some of the messages that have been deleted and the last one was him saying how Fetta cheese is Ancient Greek...I don't really see whats wrong with that...Their are some people on this forum that continually attack each other, but their posts are hardly ever deleted....I could be wrong, but I sense a bit of ganging up going on... Sad

Sorry, silly post I know, but I was just wandering...

Digenis Akritas posts are a lot more interesting than the boring rhetoric we get here all the time.

4)Nevermind if someone is talking about kemal ataturk , but as far as he doesn't refers to any Greek Personality ,there is nothing wrong!
5)Being turk gives you the right to talk with your self and your compatriots , or other Greek/cypriots who lost there sense of Greek I.D.
6)Replys to turks will be deleted if they are historically accurate. . . .
ETC ETC ETC...

I don't quite understand how this forum has attracted attention from people who have nothing better to do than generate nasty, vile comments about all things Turkish or Islam. Get a life or get off this Forum! You got no biznes being here cos the aim of TalkCyprus is to reconcile the two sides, not polarise them!

Trust me, if Turks/Turkish Cypriots wanted to, they could stoop to same level. But what's the point? Where would it get us? If you talk crap you deserve to be banned!

In the UK, we don't permit incitement to racial hatred and some of the postings recently are most definitely in breach of this law. Irrespective of location of Forum, I'm glad the moderators are applying these values throughout the site and warning/banning the worst offenders. We dig you! clap clap clap (and that's coming from moi - who just got a warning for calling someone on forum a 'waste of space'). Got to hold it down or get off the site boyz n gals!

Speech I think is what you mean. And there is no absolute freedom - especially if it curtails anothers or incites hatred - see post above.

If some of the banned people reproduced their crap in UK, they could be prosecuted for incitement to racial hatred!

People need to learn to respect HammerSkin, and argue their points intelligently, without falsifying through gross, distorted generalisations.
Sadly, such comments have been plentiful on this site, mainly from newcomers of predominantly Greek Cypriot origin. Don't take it personally, but understand that kind of behaviour isn't tolerated in any decent civil society and so it shouldn't be tolerated here. I'm sure if Turkish Cypriots went off on one in similar vein, they'd also be off.

Cyprus Rules, I'm sad that you found my posts offensive, but I wonder what your values are on this?

Perhaps as a non-Turk(Cypriot) or non-Muslim, you are not feeling as offended as we are, but some of these recent postings on this site are downright disgusting. I would not tolerate it anywhere in London (where I live) and I assure you, if I came across it, I would challenge more strongly and pursue legal avenues for them to be withdrawn and if necessary for the culprits to be prosecuted.

If we ever going to change Cyprus for the better, we ALL need to stand up to the perpetrators of hatred. Or else these evil perceptions grow and take hold and twist all. Not good!

Boyz n gals ... AND you made a comment for my dictation?

2)SURE not by throwing away my Greek Pride...

Solution? Got BORED listening to this fake word for 32 years .... FACE it... FOR AS LONG AS THE TURKISH ARMY IS ON GREEK CYPRIOTIC SOIL THERE WILL BE NO SUCH A THING AS A "SOLUTION"...unless ofcourse if one of the 2 Ethnicities of the Island die.

Cyprus is not Greek Cypriot! It's home to both Turkish AND Greek Cypriots, and any others who lawfully come and reside on the island.

The Turkish army would have been heading home in their droves if your Greek Cypriot 'bredren' had voted for the Annan Plan. Can't have your cake and eat it!

As for spelling, I can chop and change as I feel, I just thought when you're making a serious point, good to get the key phrases across accurately. But it's a mute point...

And Greek pride is good, but should not be exercised by being offensive to others. If that is all your pride is about, does not say much for Greekness, and as someone jsut returned from Athens, I know there is plenty of amazing things about Greekness (past and present) to be proud of. Just a shame some Greek Cypriots can't see positives of Turkishness/Islam...
