Hey 100% Cypriot, I wouldn't say that's exactly true...there's a lot of Greek Cypriot's out there who see the Turkish Cypriot's as their 'brother' so to speak...although a small minority are still bitter about what happened in 1974...
You know the first of the inter communal fighting started when bombs were st off and blamed on a certain group...the aim of those people who set those bombs off was to 'prove' that Greek Cypriot's and Turkish Cypriot's, could not 'live together in peace', even though they had done for centuries.....when I read some of the posts I can't help but think that those people who set off those bombs, who couldn't care less about Cypriots, whether they be Greek, Turkish, Maronite, Armenian, Latin, etc....have got their own way...
(sorry 100% Cypriot, this post isn't aimed specifically at you, but everyone...I guess....) |
Cyprus rules i was not having a dig at anyone but merely stating with sarcasm what some of the people who want to keep cyprus as it is would comment.
I agree with you that there has been a lot of shit stirring going on for the last 40 years if not longer, and only the people can stop these people i.e voting the racist politicians out of office on both sides.
Also there is no "So As To Speak" either they respect each other or they don't.
If the newfounded warmth is False then it will be another nail in the coffin of Cyprus,
Let's Hope Not |

Sorry 100% Cypriot, I didn't mean to offend you... I think I just read your comments wrong...I'm a bit riled up at the mo, I've just watched the news about Lebanon...very frustrating.....
I agree there certainly has been a lot of shit stirring going on, from various places!!! Which is so sad, why would anyone want to damage a good relationship that's been on going for centuries......(Sorry, can you tell I'm frustrated?? )
Most Greek Cypriot's do see Turkish Cypriot's as their brothers, although there is still a slight mistrust, on both sides, that needs to be put to rest, that's why we need to unite instead of fight each other, prove those people wrong that say we 'couldn't possibly live together in peace'! |
