Interesting article and a very impressive HQ ... dedicated premises are a rarity! (In the UK chess tends to be played in broken-down church halls, decrepit assembly halls of school buildings and similar).

And the Deputy PM attending the opening (with obligatory photograph of Ataturk) ... ? Equally impressive.

The new Federation Centre has a 1,000 m² area, on the 6th floor of a business centre, renewed and decorated by TCF, and is called the Atatürk Chess Centre. The total cost for the establishment of the Center is €1.1 million.

It's called the "Ataturk Chess Centre" so why not have Ataturks photo of there?

Very impressive indeed.

yeah maybe that'll inspire things..why not add a big statue as well? Or wait.. I've got an idea, the winner of major tournaments receives a figurine of Ataturk to use as the King ( or the Horse.. )

Hey, what an excellent idea. I'll forward them your posting and let them know about your suggestion. Laughing

Do the winners there get Ataturk's figurine as well?
