Well being a fan of old english classics I thought I'd see the remake of Jane Austin's Pride and Predjudice....I was expecting alot from (one of moosey's favourites) Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Bennet) I have to say I was miserably dissapointed, not only with her but with Matthew MacFadyen (Mr. Darcy) who just can't compare with Collin Firth.

Anyway if you havn't seen BBC's 1995 adaptation - thats the better of the two to see ..... or at least thats my opinion Wink

I agree Madam! I felt the same way when I saw the film - I have watched the BBC version about 10 times and love it - so the film had a lot to live up to. To be fair to it, I did watch the film version again and it grew on me a little more but nobody can beat Colin Firth at the role of Mr Darcy! The only thing about the BBC version is the actress that plays the role of Lizzy is a little too old for the part? I felt Kiera was a good Lizzy in that respect. Smile

That's so strange! I was just going to watch the film version!! Very Happy I agree to a certain extent, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be, but I have to say the film has grown on me the more times I've watched it....And the cinematography is amazing, totally sold England to me, and I live here!!! Laughing I just love English classics! At the moment I'm reading Persuasion, which dragged on a bit at first, but it's starting to get a bit exciting the further I read on.........which is always a good thing!!! It's starting to give me something to get stuck into!!! Very Happy

I agree 100% on the Cinematography - fantastic, same goes for the music actually. One of my all time favourites is Jane Eyre - I think it's because she is a bit feisty and doesn't take any crap! Very Happy
