Sad story, but im sure this happened before, with the same kind of people etc...
"The majority of those who died when a fire swept through a building in Paris housing African immigrants were children, French police say.
Fourteen children and three adults died in the blaze, which broke out in the capital's 13th district shortly after midnight. Thirty were injured. "

Very sad indeed. If I'm not mistaken there was a similar tragedy in Paris earlier this year.
It was said then that the authorities usually house asylum seekers and the like in old ruinous houses....  |

| I have to say I'm not surprised. Whilst central Paris isn't bad, many of the places on the outskirts are appalling slums, mostly populated by immigrants from French Africa or the Maghreb. These old buildings have old electrics and are generally in a sorry state, so if they do go up in flames, you've got little chance of getting out. |
