I'm planning a trip to Cyprus and wanted some advice. We're not interested in the hassle of planning a diving trip. Can we see some good stuff with just a snorkel? Any recommendations for good snorkeling sites? Glapsides or Bedis beach?
Is the water too cold for swimming in August or is it better to do it in July? We'd like to find a place where we could rent wetsuits for the day/week. Doea anyone have some suggestions? |

There is plenty to see with just a snorkel (though much less than there was say 15-20 years ago )
Water temp will be fine in July or August and you do not need a wetsuit - just a t shirt to stop you getting burnt. |

I have been snorkeling Cyprus for many years: Scuba, snorkeling and spear fishing:
Top Spots:
1: Limassol Amathus (Ancient Ruins under the water)
2: Cape Greco (Ayia Napa) Great reefs
3: Agama (Great Reefs)
4: Lino Petra (Plenty of Fish but very deep waters)
5: Komakiti (great Reefs and Rock pools)
6: Near my land Arkotissa; Many ancient ruins under the water:
7: Summer favorite Spot: Nisi Beach/Fig Tree Bay plenty of White Pointers on the sand and in the water BUT your mask/goggles might fog up get some anti fog mist:Also has mermaids with no tails: |
