Ah, she's fine, back at work today. The call from home came at 7:30am yesterday so she didn't go in, was too upset. Like all things, just takes time to get to grips with it. I only met them once at our wedding (so I don't remember them anyway), so I don't have the same emotional attachment. Problem is that she keeps reading the news all the time, which just contains endless speculation. So, I'm thinking of taking down the internet for a few days to give her a break.

If taking down the internet will help her then do it straight away, she is the most important thing in your life hence do whatever is necessary, which i have no doubt you will do.

The question for me is whether information acts as a catharsis or not. I can't read what Filelefteros et al are writing so it's difficult to realise what she's reading about. All I know is that the Fileleftheros front page the day after did not help one iota... I don't know if you saw it Bro', but it was probably the most shocking picture I've ever seen on the front page of a newspaper since a tabloid British newspaper printed a picture of a charred Iraqi soldier killed in the 1991 war. I emailed them along with many others to complain about it.

I have to agree with that statement. |
This is rather negative, although I don't blame you for being so given what was left after the crash.
I know a couple of people at the AAIB (UK) and the BEA (France) - no idea about the Greek and/or Turkish equivalents, although both countries have a good reputation in aviation - and they will go to the most fantastic lengths to try to find out and take as long as they need.
The ingenuity of these people is breathtaking and is probably why so few aeroplanes crash (if you can't find out why a crash took place, the next one could be for the same reason).

We're not saying we don't want to discover what happened, we're just pessimistic that the full details may never emerge. A lot of people on this forum have been affected personally by this, so of course we all hope that the full picture becomes apparent.

The circumstances that it crashed have jumped from one idea to another, everyday there is more conflicting statements emerging hence i feel that some things might be left out for whatever reasons but that is my pessimistic side talking.
