Alliance of civilisations

Spain and Turkey are not countries that I thought would ever form alliance with eachother not until recently. Spains new leader Zapatero has formed an "alliance of civilisations" aimed against terrorism with Turkey.

What do people make of this?

It's a nothing... it's just another statement to make sure that something emerges from a summit, nothing more. Spain and Turkey will already cooperate on terrorism through Interpol, possibly Europol as well. This is not new.
