Buenas noches, mehmet. Has vivido en espana probablemente?

But Catalan is close to spannish right?

So as far as I understood, Mehmet's grand dad was born in Catalunya and moved to Luricina in 1918, which he never told us in English... I would like him talk about a bit more...

See bg, even I could understand him, how come you couldn't Wink So Your abuelas were born in Tunisia who were slaved blacks :S and they moved to Selanik. Am I on the right track?

translation: "So, who wants to speak italian? i can speak a little, but it seems to me that my italian is enough for making conversation with italian people"

Ok I understood that much as well, I just couldn't uunderstand some of the weird words. My spanish is not that advanced after all, it is more like spanglish I guess.
Yes, you are right I have some african blood in my family.

My family story goes like this. My grand grand grandfather was a tobacco grower in the Rodop mountains, and he needed more slaves. He went to Salonique to buy some slaves, shipped by the arab merchants, but he fell in love with one of the slave women who was apparently from Tunisia, whether she was an african or an arab, I am not sure, but I have inheritted a fairly dark skin from her. They married in Salonique/Solun/Tesssaloniki and moved back to Karjali. My actual grandfather, whose name I carry, was the complete opposite of his ottoman era predecor. He was a devout communist, who fought for the rights of the tobacco growers who were oppressed by the evil capitalists. He lived in poverty without much distinction for his contributions, but later as communist gained ground he was recognized as a communist activist for his contribution. Later he was declared a communist hero. He died as a turk but postmortum he was converted into a bulgarian, when in the 80s the name on his grave was wiped and replaced with a bulgarian name. I wonder if he would have still fought for the communists if he knew what they would bring upon the turkish community. This is the history from my fathers side.

My mothers side are "pure" turks, and they originate from the region of Konya. They used to be very devout and religious and as part of the islamization strategy of the sultan were relocated to the Balkans around the 15-16th century. Later one of my grandfathers left the original settlement and moved higher in the mountains in search for more land, and decided to establish my moms village high in the Rhodope mountains.

Yes, there are Turkish Cypriots who speak Catalan. My grandfather was catalan 100%, he used to speak like this, he was born in Catalunya but worked in Larnaca, Cyprus in 1918. He moved to Luricina in 1926, learned turkish and arabic, and married my grandmother. However she died of bronchitis in 1985. ...

I am going to improve mine. I am going to improve my understanding of catalan, and i am going to participate in a Catalan course, but costs ....

is this translation good enough? I cannot understand the ... parts.
