the aim of reaching the point where Turkey will enjoy a one-trillion-dollar GND and $10,000 per capita income is far from being a dream; on the contrary, it is realistic as well as it is an attainable plan. Turkey will, Babacan said, be one of the biggest economies in Europe.

Seems quite optimistic to me. Things are certainly getting better there financially anyway. |

I agree that it is quite optimistic but not impossible. |

| I think a consistent 7% growth target is very optimistic, perhaps 5% is more realistic, which would mean Turkey having a $750bn by 2020. I think in Turkey's case the wealth will remain sharply divided. Yes, everyone will get richer, but the richest 10% will continue to dominate, with the poorest 10% not progressing very far. So Turkey will be home to some super-super-rich by 2020, but there will still be significant areas where even people's basic needs are barely fulfilled. There will still be a long way to go in other words. A one trillion dollar economy is not the panacea this article makes it out to be. |

Given the scandelous past of certain leaders of Turkey who have pretty much raped the country I would have to agree with your prediction here Moose. However, if we (Turks) get our act together as it looks presently, hopefully this will not be the case in the future. I hope everyone benefits from the future economic devolpments. |
