In Birmingham, the largest club, The Works, is having their Vodbull night (vodka and Redbull for a pound) tonight, andit is extended to 4 o'clock. Sadly i didnt get a ticket in time so i wont be going, but theres a flat party, so i'll drown my sorrows there .
No -doubt there will be alot of drunkards and paraletics coming home tomorow morning  |

| I think its wrong and should have been kept the way it was, this law is just another exscuse for the pubs, clubs and breweries to make many more £xxx and nothing else. |

| Wait till sunday and see how the weekend went. I also think there will be more deaths on the roads this winter. Longer drinking means more booze. Its not so much Binge Drinking (8 pints over 3 hours) just 10 pint over 10 hours. This measn the volume will be higher |

Re, I always found it funny that all places in the UK close at 11 o'clock. I mean, what's the big deal? Here in Cyprus places can close whenever they choose (with a few restrictions), and we've never had problems with "alcohol-related crimes". Same thing in Greece, too.
Is there something that makes British drunks dangerous or something? |

Its the culture. When Brits go out to the clubs/pubs(and im talking about the younger generation) they go not just to have a good time, they go out sometimes primarily to get as drunk as possible.
In cyprus people ill drink casually, whereas in britain, it will be 'drink as much as possible till you collapse or are sick'.
If they didnt close at 11, people would be drunk 24/7...which is what will probably happen. |

I think respiridus is right. It works in lots of other countries. Here as well.
Probably its a matter of getting used to it.
The british habit of going out to get drunk might be caused by the reason that there was always that 11 pm time limit....
I'm sure people will get used to it and the situation will normalize. |
