My village is Oroklini but 'ra' is heard all over Cyprus, but is generally thought of as a village word and it's becoming less common and more rude nowadays.
Dhavlos, CY, I mean in Greek they call them just 'thio' and 'thia' (with no name after it). We in English would never call somebody 'uncle' or 'aunt'.

Oh ok, i which case do the same(in greek)!
I wouldnt dare call someone 'ra' cos it is very rude...only if i was joking about to a friend/cousin, would i use that. I would use 'kori' instead |

In my village Louroudjina, its RA, but sometimes Re too. Or sometimes both as shown below
If someone calls you over to their house for coffee, its usually
" Ra Mehmet! Gel icelim cay re" -Mehmet, come for coffee. |
