I remember these very well. Even when I was there pre-Intifada, the IAF would send over about three flights a day, sometimes subsonic, more often supersonic so the first thing you knew was a huge thunderclap followed by deafening aircraft noise. It was intimidating and reinforced the total control that the Israeli's had over Gaza. Having visited Yad Vashem and witnessed the horrors imposed on European jewry by the Nazi regime, it never fails to amaze me that the previously bullied are now bullies themselves and treat Palestinians with almost similar disdain to how their own ancestors were being treated seventy years ago. I hope that one day Israel will collectively hang its head in shame at what it's done to these people. |
