| Guess the Germans have finally set out who will be their leader. Normally, this would be a major hurdle for Turkey's EU accession but lets face it, theyve got so many other problems this is nothing. |

erm, yes, they agreed that _if_ coalition talks will be successfull then she will be the new chancellor.
Maybe the SPD (social democrats) were quite clever by giving in to that solution. That way they might be able to gain more in other areas, like which ministry they will get etc.
The funny thing is that people here do not really like that it looks like it will be a big coalition now. Because thats actually something noone really wanted. The weird election results lead to this situation. |

hehe funny cartoon.
...but the thing is that even though she may be Chancellor she wont be able to pass anything, because the Cabinet is full of Schroeder's men..
its like a Labour/Conservative coalition! I say we are much better without Proportional Representation over here...(well actually...we do seem to get leaders like Blair from FPTP..ok scrap the last bit I said!) |
