I'm researching archaeologists' ethical responsibilities in conflict zones (primarily in Cyprus) and, for that, I've been trying to work through the relevant histories. I've just put up a brief backgrounder on the Greek coup against and Turkish invasion of Cyprus, focused on international states' (rather than the communities') relations. (When I say basic, I mean basic - sufficiently so for ksenous/yabancilar (especially archaeologists) to understand.) I'd be grateful for any comments, corrections or criticisms.

There are also links in the left sidebar to photoblogs for some of the villages that I have visited. I realise that they are all formerly mixed or Turkish Cypriot villages so far (although there are a few posts in human rights archaeology and samarkeolog showing they're not all that I have visited), but there are lots of sites like Action Cyprus more than making up for it until I can correct my own pages' imbalance.

Hi,

Thanks, RW.

I've put it under resources at the moment, as I think there's too little material up for a separate discussion at the moment. I don't know how much information I should put on the blogs themselves. I've been putting as little as possible up, partly to save the time I have in Cyprus for actually getting information, partly to avoid saying anything incorrect (until I've got enough evidence to make a plausible claim, which could still be wrong), partly to avoid offending anyone who might make me getting more information more difficult than it already is...!

Sam
