I saw a documentary today on Makarios and Grivas and what amazed me with both these 2 so called wise men or heroes or fools was the way there coffins where draped with the GREEK FLAGS and NOT with a Cypriot Flag!

So if you have theses 2 high profile Cypriots Representatives? with Greek Flags on their coffins MAYBE they where Greeks and NOT Cypriots?

WHY on Earth would you put a Greek flags when you have YOUR OWN flag?

cheers
PS! It only goes to show IF these 2 didn't know WHO and WHAT they where how can WE have a united Cyprus???????????

Grivas took his pay from fanatics, like them, he called himself "Greek".

Makarios was savvy, and he sat beside the Queen, to her right, while his view, the non-aligned States, gave Cyprus, and its Republic, recognition, having a distinctive identity amongst the global partners.

I think, 200 years from now that he will be a hero, so too Denktash, opening the gates to end the isolation, but not Grivas, mired with others, who placed themselves above Mankind's interest, and who used any opportunity to acheive their goals.

something quite objective on this subject.

Things to remember about Makarios and Grivas.

What was objective about it!!!

All they want to show is that Greeks are so barbarians that we kill our own people. To me their attempt was to blame and not to accept responsibility and for that it is not objective. Also what they wrote has nothing to do with Grivas, Grivas was allready dead at the time of the coup.

Quote:
According to the documents and statements in their files, more than half of the Greek Cypriot missing persons were victims of the 1974 coup rebels and not the 1974 war, as falsely alleged by the Greek Cypriot authorities.

especially this piece of propaganda

stav, have you read other articles from this journal, or other printform directed to a Turkish population?

haven't we (you, me, and most of the rest on this forum) admited already that the barbarians we have amongst us killed there own?

don't get tied up in a knot. my point is that Makarios is portrayed by a Turkish author as an individual who either changed, or resolved to see an independant Cyprus, whereas Grivas and his ilk were an intolerant rabble.
