| Hi Cypezokli, I think that after the Turkish Cypriot elite new that the Island being 'given' back to Turkey was never really a reality |
Are you sure about this? There are Turkish political groups (active in Britain) who believe Crete should belong to Turkey and they cannot make the same mistake with Cyprus. |

| Aer you sure about that, you got a source for that? I know people often compare the massacres of Cretan Turks before they joined to Greece with what might have happened in Cyprus, but i have never seen anyone serious saying Crete should be Turkeys. |

I dont have the link now - its a website I read of a Turkish political group or some kind of association which said that Turkey cannot make the same mistake with Cyprus as it did with Crete...and to some other basic words, believes that Crete shouldve stayed within Turkish control.
Come on now - you know full well there are a lot of overtly Turkish nationalists out there....and no point saying but there are also Greek ones...because Turks seem to take nationalism that one, two or maybe ten steps further. |

And there are not Greeks who think Istanbul, sorry Constantinople, belongs to them? You cannot even call yourself a Turk in Greece, yet you bang on all day that Kurds cant call themselves Kurds in Turkey. Is there even a mosque in Athens yet? In fact, wasnt Hrisi Avgi one of the most prominent neo-nazi groups in Europe, wanting their glorious Hellenic Empire?
Dont tell me nationalist in Turkey goes that step further, imo, nationalism in Greece is amongst the most deluded in Europe.

How is this any different from those Greek fools that claim that Istanbul is Constantinople and it belongs to Greece and Agis Sophia should be converted to a church again? These are fools in every nation. |

How is that foolish? Aghia Sophia is to the Orthodox Christians what the Vatican is to the Catholics.
Its a part of Greek Orthodox culture and was built by Greek Orthodox believers.
How you can compare the two is ridiculous. |

lol...you deluded here. Nationalism is extremely high in Turkey and that is a political fact. What other sicko country would deface a mountain side with there flag to winf up the people it ethnically cleansed.
Carry on living in your fantasy world and carry on asking yourself why Turkey has no real political allies - be it from Christian or Muslim states. |

And what other people would fly the flag of Greece side by side with that of the Republic of Cyprus and critisise the other side for doing the same. What other country still has graffiti defacing their buildings and still call themselves more civilised than the rest. |

I wouldnt call the Turkish flags defacing the Pentadahtylos mountain side grafiti...just an example of how tacky and nationalistic Turks are. No class - everyone hates you - you dont care - you will do when parts of Turkey hit poverty.

You should visit Turkey and see how hard these people work and how much money is in the country. You will be amazed.
Sorry I thought you meant Hip Operations. I am a pure soulfunk man myself. I hear it is making a big comeback. |

Ah! Those were the days. Until that film "Saturday night fever" came along and ruined it for us true soul boys. I've got a few 12 inchers myself.

Saturday Night Fever just emphasised commercial disco for the white audiences. It did no justice to good disco music and came out when disco turned very commercial and tacky.
