I asked this question more than 6 months agio and the answer was "nothing". I was however accused of being the cause of the division in this forum and the reason why those who were for unification changed their minds.
Well, I have been away for 6 months and not played with anyones minds to re-educate them so after such a long absence what have you all decided to do about the Cyprus problem?
1) Have you now managed to come to an agreement?
2) When is the "unification"?
3) Are you still "Cypriots" or Turkish Cypriot and/or Greek Cypriot?
4) Has my friend DP learned the difference between ethnicity and nationality or is he still confused as before?
5) Are you still talking about ENOSIS?
I have more questions but I will leave it at that for the time being so as not to over work some people here who might feel the necessity to reply with an essay consisting of 1000's of words instead of a simple Yes or No. |

4)I think Kifeas, made it clear for him and he understood difference between ethnicity and nationality
5) Of course, some other people who were pro-enosis such Digenis Akritas and hammerskin left, but I came along

lol...we are never going to agree. We cant agree on unification, we cant agree on partition, we cant agree on property, we cant agree on settlers, we cant agree on democracy, we cant agree on what shoes to wear, we cant agree on what bank to switch to, we cant agree on....do you get my point?
Its jsut a forum to discuss and learn, yes we wanted to create a space where we could create a solution, but i think its a case of too many cooks spoil the broth.
Ive learnt that a soluton is best left to a small group of people, who try to incorporate as much fairness as they can into a solution, but without compromising the viability/workability of a new State. The more people who try to discuss it, the harder it becomes. And aopther thing, ive learnt a solution is about compromise. Also, for anyting anyone has to say about anything in history, politics etc, there is always another side to the story. No-one holds the 'real truth' to what happened, all we have is our opinions. The more opinions we can find out about, the better our own can be shaped. |

hello eric, long time...what makes you think that you are the center of our debates or that somehow you are better or more important than any one of us. Why take the calling of so few so personally?
So... you need to generalise, put us in one pot, to ridicule, somehow this makes you more whole as a person...if so your thank-you is appreciated... and you are welcome.
More importantly, have you in six months found something to offer from which we can learn from. Have you evolved? Are you prepared to propose some good work that we can together effect?
Otherwise, blah blah blah. |

CHEERS!
Anyway, eric, perhaps you can look into my topic: "Repulsewarrior's concept..." because I would like your evaluation of what could make it work.
I'm still hoping for your goodwill and an effort on which we can collaborate. Cyprus is an island. |

When you've evolved to my level and want to talk about partition come back and we'll talk.

In other words in all this time you have not managed to agree on a single thing and you blame and swear at the Piloticians for nit finding a solution, right?

Actually you have jumped the gun and spoiled my next question.

Was you trying to solve the problem by not allowing all concerned to have their say? Not very demogratic is it?

What if one party is and the other is not or both parties are not prepared to compromise? Is it time to go seperate ways or should they be forced to get "married"?

You said above "but i think its a case of too many cooks spoil the broth", I take that to mean that there were too many posters here who spoiled the atmosphere for those who were genuinely looking to discuss and find a solution but then you go on and say that "The more opinions we can find out about, the better our own can be shaped", so how do you want to shape your opinion if you don't want too many cooks giving their opinion? |

I think you should read it and understand it yourself first then maybe you will stop contradicting yourself and make better sense of the whole thing.
BTW, did anyone like or agree with your "idea"?
And the name of the topic [
Repulsewarrior's concept of a post-solution government ]
is a contradiction in itself don't you think?
"post-solution" means that a solution has been agreed on so what is the purpose of you suggesting a solution if a solution has already been found?

Yes, we can colloborate without any problems at all, all you have to do is agree on partitioning.

What had you expected?
That everything was settled and the forum shut down since there is nothing more to talk about?...
