Yes boys and Girls I am back! back in the New York GROOVE!

Yes boys I got it straight from the horses mouth! My Uncle Stephanopolous said that OBAMA will Solve the Cyprus problem:
Remember it was Richard (The Great) Holbrooke who put Cyprus into the EU and stopped Turkey using it Ottoman Threats against us!
Yes Richard will complete the job he started!
One Cyprus One Nations for ALL!

WHAT? You don't think if OBAMA picked up the phone and told the Turks to PISS OFF! Turkey wouldn't do it?

WHAT? Are you saying if OBAMA tells the Greeks that the Turkish Cypriot have equal rights to the Greek Cypriot on Cyprus the Greeks will NOT listen!

What about OBAMAS great relations with the Greece/American Society?
I have seen him dance Zorba many times!
He is not Stupid he must be the smartest US president since JFK!
He knows Greek History and the difference between Invasion, Occupation and Peace Mission!

Yes the end of Turkish Occupation OR should I say there 30plus years of Piece Operations in Cyprus will end very soon my freinds very soon!

LOOKS like Denktash, Bassilou, Clerides and others will have to look for a NEW island to screw!
Hey maybe KOS? Better Still Tasmania!
cheers my friends and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Wait, are you serious? Since when does a US president have magical powers to convince people for reunification? Your assessment is simplistic, at best. No offence meant.

Hi, glad to have found you guys. Though it's sad that the forum doesn't seem to be as active as in the past...

But dont' get me wrong repulsewarrior, I'm not some cold-blooded cynic. I dream and hope that Christofias and Talat will manage to come to an agreement despite their personal and political limitations, and I hope that because I can see the potential.

But we can't put our hopes on one man that rules a far away country that, for all it's world power, will probably have no time or priority to deal with Cyprus. I remember hearing that when Carter [I think] was elected in the US the G/C were ringing church bells in celebration, and when Clinton was first elected there was again an upsurge of optimism from G/C because Clinton was "our friend", whatever that means. Don't take what US Presidential candidates tell diasporas to court their votes- it's usually generic and vacuous and soon forgotten.

If there's anything to hope for from the Obama election is a world where the reigning world country attempts to discuss with who it considers its enemy rather than opt for belligerency from the get-go. The more stable such a world, and our region, might become by result, the easier it might be for us to reach a solution and sustain. Other than that, I am sorry, I can't be excited that Obama "is going to solve it".

Heh, one person doth not action stir up by himself. How come things are so quiet around here?
