...these same Unions stand for a United Cyprus, if I understand correctly, and their issues revolve around freer expression, and independance from the dogma of those who are their authority from elsewhere.

Yes, only coincidence..I mean, what makes you think that unions would strike for the Cyprus problem or for the (lack of) democracy in the North? In such a case, they would have to be striking for their entire lives man! Get real! It's just an internal matter.. |

...unions, anywhere, have represented themselves as leaders of Social Justice.
one hundred percent of any group is very rarely in total agreement. opressed people do not cease to resist their whole lives as it is. even if it is a coincidence, it is a signal.
....and it is in my mind encouraging because the Turkish Cypriot people will have the debate which is their right and the most important element for making decisions in a democratic fashion. |
