I hope this doesnt violate any rules of the forum. This is from a forward I received recently about a department stores cookies. The recipe follows the short story.

Sure she could have checked her card when signing it bet let's face it these are americans...

That woman is a complete dumbass. For those who do not know Neiman Marcus it is one of the most expensive department stores in the US. Nothing and I stress NOTHING is for sale in that store for 2.50 US$.

I don't think she's worried - she doesn't exist! The story is a version of an urban legend which has been around since the 1940s at least.

Snopes tells the story ...
