I think the problem in Cyprus is that fact that everyone wants to protect their rights and ends up fighting for it. Well, we can solve this problem by abolishing these rights.
The proposed solution step by step:
a) The Republic of Cyprus secedes from the EU.
b) Spanish and Moroccan army and security forces take control of the island, while Turkish and Greek forces leave the island. Simultaneously the National Guard, Turkish Cypriot Security Force disbands together with all internal security forces and police.
c) The Republic of Cyprus relinquishes its sovereignty of the island, while the TRNCy retracts its unilateral declaration of independence. The island of Cyprus becomes a jointly administered crown property of the Kingdoms of Spain and Morocco.
d) A Turkish Cypriot and a Greek Cypriot Advisory Councils are set up by popular vote in an advisory capacity to the absolute autocrat of the island having complete legislative and executive authority, being in a rotational period of 5 years in turn the King of Spain or the King of Morocco. Spanish and Moroccan magistrates and judges take on the judicial governing of the island.
e) The right of association and the right of congregation are abolished. Political parties, trade unions, professional associations and NGOs are explicitly forbidden under the new regime. Freedom of expression outside the confines of the Advisory Councils is made a criminal offense.
f) The island of Cyprus is exempt from all international organizations and treaties, effectively having the status of 'no-man's land'. Furthermore the indigenous population does not receive citizenship of any state.
g) We live happily ever after as loyal subjects to our King.
EDIT - Or, Lichtenstein could annex us. |

i know what you are saying though...
there is no one in our midst, a leader
but so long as the blood drips along the line, that is good
the heart beats still, no matter the infarctus.
mr Merchant, it's funny 'cause yu gotta laugh.
believe in the good, things change.

How much longer do you want to wait for a perfect solution? We wasted 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and now the first 7 years of 2000s waiting for a perfect solution. Pretty soon the generation that created this problem will die and we'll be left with their mess. |

This is always Turkey's plan; check your history.
And, it is the perfect plan we need. There should be no compromise of our integrity, or the heritance we leave all Mankind.
It should be strictly a made in Cyprus affair.
A referendum in this sense demands recognition of all the other interlocutors, Turkey as well, but in particular the UN. We owe it to ourselves as this State's builders, to be recognised as esteemed members of this Family, for having contributed to the betterment of Humanity, not just to the squeakiest wheels. |

What's Turkey's plan? Not to have a solution in Cyprus? I don't agree with that.

There's no perfect solution in Cyprus simply because both sides are far apart. There can only be a compromise solution. |

no Mete, Turkey has a very complex plan which takes generations, witness the fall of Arab glory.
There is a perfect solution. When it is apparent, even a five year old will understand it and consider it as fair. Until that time it is lucky the donkeys we have are the best, even if they are donkeys. |
