European Union (EU) Term President UK sent a new Cyprus declaration draft to member countries Tuesday evening.
The draft with slight improvements for Turkey will be handled in today's Permanent Representatives Committee.
Diplomatic sources in Brussels said it will be hard to reach an agreement on the new draft that does not satisfy the Greek Cypriots.

It seems that the idea is to get Turkey to walk away from negotiations and many EU countries have noticed this aswell as the international community. |

Member states struggle on Cyprus counter declaration
The UK presidency's goal of reaching agreement on Wednesday (7 September) over an EU counter declaration on Cyprus, meant to pave the way for entry talks with Turkey, was proving "very difficult" to reach, according to diplomats.
Diplomats close to the meeting between EU ambassadors said the talks were "very tough".
After Wednesday's failure of the talks, the UK presidency is now set to intensify bilateral meetings before EU ambassadors meet again next week.

Yes, only such a purpose would explain the "sudden concern" of France over the well-being of Greek Cypriots ... |

Its in light of the declaration that turkey done when it signed the customs union paperwork that included cyprus saying it does not recognise it or accept its boats and planes to land on turkish soil and the EU is looking at ways to counter it with its own declaration. |
