i know that most of you, will think that i am crazy...however i was thinking... why not having a common online newpaper ?
Guys...i am talking about a website with articles of positive and peaceful thoughts. Like this forum, which is a very nice idea.
i am not a writer, but if anyone wants to take part, talk here about the idea.
we need a web designer, a website, and 6 editors ( 3 cypriots and 3 cypriots...you know what i mean.. who write well). our newspaper will have the name "Peace" and the language will be in english.
i believe is a nice idea of having a common online newspaper with articles. |

That's a great idea and hereby nominate... GR, Piratis, and Kifeas, for the Greek Cypriot contribution and for the Turkish Cypriot contribution may I suggest... my goodness there's so many... Brother, 100% Cypriot, and Murataga? :D |

But this is a new website being proposed so forum antagonisms need not be part of it. I would imagine it to be a Cypriot online community thing.

Artist, I think that is the greatest idea ever someone came across in this forum.
A newspaper can generate income as well with advertisments and all that, therefore Erolz will be able to maintain the site and editors/moderators can make some money for their time and efforts.
The movement for re-unification starts from little things. The other day I heared of a bi-communal cafe opening in Lefkosia. It was the United Cyprus Platform Conceference in Constantinople last January. There are bicommunal games all the time. Imagine what bicommunal media will bring!!! Imagine a civil movement where the entire Cypriot population enrolls in some sort of bicommunal activity. Then no country and no politicians will be able to argue that Cypriots do not want to unite as some conveniently declared after the previous referendum which didn't reflect the will of the people in any way. |

exactly !
this is the purpose! to make politicians understand that we dont need them, to remind us every time about the past, in order to take a higher position or more votes, but to show them that we can live together without any problems.
it is a good thing an online common newspaper with interviews and articles about our life here, from good writers :) . |

Yes what a brilliant idea!!!
We must also give an invitation to the Gay Wolves and to Denktash to be a writer to a bicommunal newspaper.
Ps: An online newspaper can easily be made in joomla, I’m a web developer-designer I can make this happen in less than a week but I do not see any reason for it, we are going straight ahead to division. |

Okay I’m in.
I’ll cover all the expenses and administration and I’ll setup the site after the elections (and IF TPap is not reelected) but I will not have anything to do with moderation.
For head writers we must have one from each side with the same rights and we must make a protocol for decision making, for the Greek Cypriot head writer I suggest cyperzokily and the Turkish Cypriot can make their own suggestions. It could also support 3 languages (Turkish, Greek and English), I can setup a professional news portal in joomla with all and more functions than the most of the existed newspapers and will cost me a dime.
If Tpap is reelected there is 0 meaning for such an effort.
As about the right wingers from each side we can make them a second class column called right wingers Greek Cypriot’s or something.
If anyone see any meaning on this just post your thoughts. |

You can be a good writer (but in technical issues you must refer to experts) in English and Turkish and you can be a fair moderator (something I can’t) and you are trustable to be a head writer.
It could look like that:

Of course the best and the most appropriate is the first but I can easily make a custom solution either based in an existing theme or a total new one. And it can have almost any function you can imagine and it could be much more powerful from the existing news portals because the open source community and the mods to support this it makes it more powerful from the majority of the commercial news systems that may have other benefits like speed seo and support.
