GREEK AMBASSADOR SUMMONED OVER OFFENDING MAP; TURKEY EXPECTS APOLOGY
Greek Ambassador to Ankara George Yennimatas was summoned to the Foreign Ministry on Saturday over a map showing a divided Turkey which was used last week in Athens during a seminar by the Greek General Staff. According to diplomatic sources, Turkeyâ€™s displeasure over the map was conveyed to Yennimatas. Sources stated that the Turkish Embassy in Athens is also expected to register a protest. /Cumhuriyet/

PS Turkey has plenty of maps showing ALL Cyprus RED!
I have a map showing Kurdistan taking a slice out of Turkey!

Hey Ive got a map showing Australia as part of Greece and discovered by Ulysses!
That is why they call it Australia!

Now now brother, don't put words in my mouth that I did not utter. I did not say that Turkey should not exist. I just said that I have a map that doesn't even show Turkey. I meant, that it doesn't show Turkey where it currently is. Turkey can exist on a map, where it belongs, somewhere between Turkmenistan and Tadjikistan.. south west of Mongolia.

But no, not in Asia Minor. As it should be.

By the way. Why isn't the Greek government summoning the Turkish Ambassador to account for why there is a map in the Turkish national assembly showing a divided Cyprus? They should be calling them every day until a satisfactory answer is given.

Of course Greek politicans by their nature are whores to angloamerican policies and have the spine of a slug, so no wonder.

BTW, I would like to see this map, if possible. Is there a link? I am curious what the division signified, or was it just an ad hoc strike with a green marker with no particular reasoning behind it.

I myself have not seen the map but i did see the one the US 'accidentally' showed them of the same thing and basicly all of southeastern turkey, north irak parts of iran and i think it was saudi arabia had been forged into one showing it as kurdistan :wink:

Personally, I love the Turkish people I know, and they live with a culture that is refined; good food, good music, literature and art.

Maybe their pride in a rich history is overwhelming to others, but their State is in trouble with a great danger of stagnating, without reform. Few Turks will disagree, especially the Kurdish, a large minority, and several others who suffer from the exclusivity of its politics.

It takes all kinds to make up Humanity. We are all dreary lots at this point. Turkey is us.

In a democracy people rule, and hence shape the laws of the lands which is rightfully theirs. In Cyprus there is a problem, since despite the fact that the rightful owners of the lands from the occupied north can exercise their right to vote and be voted, the executive powers which stem from these votes are suspended due to the occupation. Hence, even though a Mayor of Kyrenia is democratically elected, he is prevented in most cases from acting as such due to the illegal Turkish occupation. If the illegal Turkish occupation of the northern areas of Cyprus was lifted, Cyprus would be far more democratic. Regardless of that fact, we still try and we are far far ahead than either the Turkish regime or the Pinnochio state in the north.

But I don't need to tell you all this, you can ask the EU if Cyprus is democratic or not.

This coming from an armenian who's race has never been able to viably create, control and administer to a state. Just like the Kurds. You lived off the back of the Ottoman Empire for centuries and now you live off the back of the Republic of Cyprus and judge Turks.

People like Dream_Merchant seriously have no shame. They expect us to get into a serious discussion with them when they have difficulty accepting the last 1000 years or so. Dream_Merchant, wake up and get used it man! Turks have been in Asia Minor for a while now and I highly doubt that they'll pack up and leave anytime soon!
