Is this true?
Quote: whilst the occupied territories have experienced a complete drying up of demand for property given the issues of contested ownership.

as I don't know how long the article can be found under the above link, here the full text
Quote: Cyprus property market heading for crash 260407
Following the patterns recently reported in the Spanish property market that the housing market is on the brink of collapse, Cyprus the destination for many holiday home buyers from the UK is recording negative drops in value. Much of the problem lies in the fact that the property developers in Cyprus have over developed certain parts of the island without due consideration to the demand and the costs in the region. Leading sellers of property BuysellCyprus have reported 2-3 per cent point drops in real estate in the island, whilst the occupied territories have experienced a complete drying up of demand for property given the issues of contested ownership. Many of the large developers from Cyprus have resorted to expensive roadshows in the UK to attract custom and offer budget or free travel and accomodation. |

| The property market in the North is stagnating due to many factors including contested ownership but picked up again after the recent rulings in the arsetis case in the UK. |

Boys & Girls there was a program on Aussie Channel 2 tonite called Foreign Correspondence that showed how corrupt and how volatile people can be in the Nth of Cyprus:
It also showed how Agents operated and didn't give a SHIT about who the land is legally owned by and how the Poms where only "Looking OUT for a bargain and Looking at Today ONLY!"as stated by the program:
It also showed how the settlers have more say than the Turkish Cypriot themselves:
I am sure a lot of Aussies watched this show: Well most of my long list of friends have including politicians:
I don't know IF it was my 100s of emails or my 100s of texts BUT they got a look at what is really happening in the Nth of Cyprus:
Great to see that some Turkish Cypriot actually spoke about the corruption and injustice to the Greek Cypriot property owners and also how some Greek Cypriot also felt sorry to what is happening in the South with Turkish Cypriot land:
One remarkable thing is how many Turkish military people had houses in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus:
What was that for?
Reward for invading Cyprus?
Or rewards for supporting Denktash!
cheers
PS One smart arse Pom said "This land is NOW ours and we don't care who it did belong to because I don't think the Turkish military Will let those Greeks take it back"
Maybe sweetheart BUT what about the EU? |

Yes, on the exact topic there was the documentary mentioned by DP last night on ABC. Mikkie try the ABC website and try your luck, as DP said the name of the program is foreign correspondence.

It was the lady with the short white hair, yes. How ironically she was asking for her Human Rights at the time she knows that both stealing and accepting stolen goods / property is a crime!
I hope all this property problem will stop and us the Greek Cypriots should make the start... I hope we put some pressure to our government or whoever is responsible to return to Turkish Cypriot properties to the real owners.
ps. we should do before we demand our properties in the North. |

All this property problems are done BY corrupt Turkish Cypriot & Greek Cypriot ! Specially Denktash & Clerides!
They gave the chance to foreigners to buy stolen land: they all new the land was stolen and so do the buyers:
All it was like it said in the program:
QUICK MONEY TODAY!
cheers
PS How was the bit about the Turkish Cypriot lady in Kyrenia telling the legal Greek Cypriot owner "By the way YOUR apartment has just been sold by a Turkish Military officer to a Pom!"
Great news! Congratulations!
Hey I don't know why I am freaking out!
1: They haven't built on my land!
2: I can go and BUY stole property anytime in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and make the Turkish Cypriot wade on me for a few bucks!
BUT hey I ain't a 2 Bob Pom looking for a bargain!! |
