I need to build it bigger and provide valuable contents based on experiences.
Anyone who is ready to write something about the below titles, may send it to info@theguidetocyprus.com
1. How much things costs
2. Best beaches
3. Night life experiences
4. Crime in cyprus
5. walking in cyprus
6. Gold and Jewlery
7. Golf
8. Sports
9. Breaucracy
etc...
If you feel that you have a real experience in one of the above would you please send your article to the email above, and I will publish it.
Help me create a real-life informational website.
Thank you |

Hi,
Your website seems to place a very heavy emphasis on the Greek aspect of Cyprus. Perhaps you should elaborate more on the Turkish identity of the island too. |

Yes you do. With all due respect the english text there is very badly written and the information somewhat strange. I did enjoy this part from the 'getting to cyprus' section
Quote: The only ways to reach Cyprus, the time being, is by air or sea.
Well it is an island after all :) As for 'the time being' - are there plans afoot that I have not heard of for a submarine link perhaps , or maybe a bridge , though one from Greece to Cyprus may be a touch ambitious even for us Cypriots :)
The 'Cypriot Etiquette' section is chock full of fascinating insights into our culture as well.
Quote: The third important thing is not to comment about someone’s sister, wife, or any female related to that someone.
Yeah there is a similar etiquette down in West London as well , at least in some areas :)
Quote: ...why you should stay away from ever bringing up the issue of Turkey all through a talk with a Cypriot.
Unless of course the Cypriot is also a Turkish Cypriot I guess. Rumor has it that there are some of these even in the southern parts of Cyprus.
Keep up the good work. I think your site has potential to become a cult classic. |

Welcome to the forum JohnnyGreek!
Erm...on the one hand you say:
Quote: A well known fact is that the way of life, faith and inheritance play a vital part in the people's lives. However, because Cypriots underwent a lot during the historical old days and more than ever when the Turks took over the north, it would be understood as one explanation why you should stay away from ever bringing up the issue of Turkey all through a talk with a Cypriot.
And yet the Google Ads on the right are promoting property agents on the North? Suddenly I am reminded of a gesture my Father performs regularly, he pulls at his left ear lobe with his right hand...  |

Hi Johnny welcome:
As you can gather there will many on this forum wanting you to promote the North as well:
I am one of them BUT please promote TRUE Turkish Cypriot properties and sites and not stolen ancient ruins and Hotels and properties BECAUSE it would not be fair for the people who where forced out by Turkey at gun point from their legally owned ancestral land!
First place to promote is the beautiful village of Lapithos!
Where the Turkish Cypriot have turned our beautiful church Ayia Anastasias into a Hotel/Restaurant!
Do you want any more sites let me know?
Cheers
PS I have also been told that some clown in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has also got it on the market to SELL?
What a JOKE!
Maybe the Republic of Cyprus should sell the TEKE in Larnaca BUT then that would put us down to there Level wouldn't it!
Amazing! |

Guys, the google ads are a way to support my site to help pay running costs. However I am very schocked and very sad because Northen Turkish Property ads are appearing. I have tried to contact google about this, but no avail.
The problem as I understand, is that those people advertising at google, use stolen keywords to link to their ads. For example, they put cyprus, greek, keywords to have their ads displayed at Cyrpiot sites.
I tried to block some, but everytime appears a new URL.
Any suggestions? If I can get income to support my site from anywhere else, I will get rid of google ads.
Thanks |
