I got this by email.....can anyone tell me if this is true?

A few days ago, a person was charging his cell phone at home in Sandton,
Johannesburg. Just at that time a call came and he attended to it. That
call with the instrument still connected to the mains. After a few seconds
electricity flowed into the cell phone unrestrained and the young man was
thrown to the ground with a heavy thud.
His parents rushed to the room only to find him unconscious, with weak
heartbeats and burnt fingers.
He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cell phone is a very useful modern invention. However, we must be aware
that it can also be an instrument of death.
Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the mains! |

| I hope not Marina! My mobile is often on charge as I use it and I'm still here :D It's more likely to be a dodgy cable or plug socket! |

Have never heard of something lieke that. Can only imagine it was an exception as Leyla said.
But as all technical equipment there might be faulty hardware sometimes; like last year when they re-called all these laptops cause the battery could explode. |

| I am an electrician and this can happen with only a dodgy charger, probably not a bona fide model or if it has been tampered with. For the proper charger to go wrong to such an extent......I can only say that it would have to be a very rare freak accident. |
