Hi all,

I’ve just introduced myself on the Board
My first post is not a happy one.

I have made an internet site to expose, “name and shame” Christoforos Karayiannas & Son Ltd. and what they have done to my family. They are property developers based in Paralimni and we were to buy a four bedroom detached house from them. No 30 Ayios Sergios in Frenaros.
Click on the WWW button below or in my profile.

On my site you can read our contract, see our photo’s, read all correspondence and even listen to the audio of our meetings with them. We have nothing to hide and now very little left to loose.

There is no defamation on my site. Examine the evidence for yourselves.
You will see how Karayiannas & Son deceived us before contract, now ignore that contract (deposited in the land registry) refuse to deliver our house and have kept all our money.

You can read about how Christoforos Karayiannas was arrested for assault and Marios Karayiannas was arrested for criminal damage and follow their upcoming trial.

My case is NOT a complicated one. I show everything on my site which takes some committed reading.
There is a summary on the front page.
The letter I sent to them on the 13th Feb 2006 (on “their lies” page) is an important read.
I’ve put important quotes in the margins of all pages.
The audio is best studied with the transcripts. They are essential for anyone wishing to do business with Marios Karayiannas.

My family is now living in rented accommodation. We stayed silent for a year now in the hope they would do the right thing…they didn’t. It is now time to tell our story so others can learn from our mistakes.

I welcome constructive “objective” comments but please give me an idea as to how deep you studied my site and I’ll know where you’re at. We are gathering evidence for our court cases, if you can help us in any way please get in touch. If you prefer you can contact me in private.

This whole experience is just a setback and not a cancellation of our move to Cyprus. We still intend to settle in the Frenaros / Paralimni area.

Regards

Conor

welcome conor to the site!!

i havent yet read your site, but it sounds like you were done up so to speak. ive moved your topic here as it seems mopre relevent, and people seeing this part of the site may be more likely to see it, than the general chat bit which it can get lost in.

Thanks Dhavlos. My mistake with the General Chat Board.
This is of course the right place.
I hope you get a chance to study my site.

Cheers

Hi Connor,

Last summer I won a dispute versus the Louis Tourist agency (large tourist company in Cyprus) thanks to the involvement of the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism which luckily has a "complaints" section.

They were very prompt and efficient and within 10 odd days Louis were calling me on the phone for a refund and/or alternative solution whereas before they didn't even want to know me.

You might want to give them a try, they have a "contact us" on their site. They are located in Nicosia just 300-400 meters past the old Hilton hotel and heading towards old Nicosia on the same side of the road. It's a white building with arches if memory serves me well.

Anyway, here's their website:
http://www.mcit.gov.cy/mcit/mcit.nsf/dmlindex_en/dmlindex_en?OpenDocument

Good luck.

Thank you for that information and link.
Now that my homework is done I intend to tell Everyone.
The courts are moving so slow. We have a list of the building industry Regulators but the Ministry you mention is new to us.

Many Thanks

i cannot tike sides on this one.

but it is true, and it is a shame for our country what a number of developers do. usually though they give them the house, but dont give them their owenership title. its surprising that they didnt even give you the house !!!

why dont you contact a lawyer ?

hope the goverment department can help you.

hi Connor,

I can understand what you and your family are going through but why did you bother building a whole new website on the single issue???

Anyway I am fairly sure you'll win the case and I wish you all the best.

Hi stravrizatz,

Thanks for your kind words

I wasn't easy building that site, I tell ya.
We felt it important to build an website, to get all the facts in the open so as to get as much advice from others. It’s not possible to share my contract, audio files etc in a forum.
The other thing about forums is that SOME bow to advertisers and others fear even the most pitiful legal threats. (This is a good forum)
Some forums won't let you join if you are to "name and shame" companies others just edit your posts. How are people to know if a developer is good or not. You do a search on the forum nothing bad comes up you think they are ok. I want full control and we thought this is the best way.

I keep to the facts here and can put my opinions on my site (although even there I bite my lip and leave it to the reader to make up his own mind)

It is my first website. Soon I hope it will be picked up by Google another advantage of my own site.
I think anyone (and there may be 100’s) wishing to do business with these people can learn from my experience.

Thanks also for the words of support coming in by email.

Cheers

Conor

Hi cypezokyli

It took us some months to find the right solicitor but we now have one of the top litigators in Cyprus on the case.
Its all very slow though.

Thanks for your kind words

Hi Conor,

I have read everything on your web site bar some documents as they were in Greek but have no doubt about what they say, also listened to some of the audio and i have no doubt about how badly your family has been treated and what has transpired, i am sure that with the massive amount of evidence you have these rascals will be punished, just one question i have and that is; Does their company have any builders guarantees, association membership (in UK we have builders associations and the like)

I wish you and your lovely family lots of luck and eventually a happy life in cyprus. :)

Thanks for your support and kind words,

I am chasing the relevent associations and even EU MP's etc.
It takes a shocking ammount of time.
Now that my home work is done and my site is live were hoping to speed things up.
When we win our case I would then press for Karayiannas to get struck off any industry governing bodies.

Cheers

Conor
