the press is (surprisingly) doing its job!
its the first topic in most newspaper i ve seen today : british, american , german, even greek , turkish and cypriot ones !!!

i never considered myself as "green" , but those 500 people who know more than me, met in paris and said that the problem is serious.

do you think that sth will be done this time or will it be forgotten in week ?
perhaps....so long there are disasters caused by the weather , it will be difficult to forget...

will our leaders do sth ?

Yes, because the very surprising thing is that there is no credible dissent here; the "man-made" case has been won.

I think it's about time that the leaders of the world came to the conclusion that we are slowly killing the planet. I agree that the leaders must be involved in addressing the global warming issues. BUT, we as individuals must also do our part on a grass-roots level. We don't have to wait until such things are legislated to us.

sorry, usually I am not a very pessimistic person, but in this case I am. Its known for years that we are well on the way to destroy the planet. And till now nothing really with a serious impact has been done. Some efforts here and there; and even GWB seems to have understand whats going on (or just does it for PR reasons) but whats needed is concerted worldwide action and I do not see this happen. Unfortunately. :-(

to be honest i disagree.
yes at the end of the day it depends on all of us.
but if it doesnt come as a strict legislation , from the top i dont believe that we can achieve sth.

the scientist have done their part , and so did enviromental organisations. the best they can do is inform , and the second to stage some demonstrations.

imo it lies in the hands of the politicians...if it will have any chance of success

There are things that are going on that for some reason are not being reported. As some of you know I am an electrician and specialise in wiring domestic heating systems. For a couple of years now the law does not permit the installation of older type conventional boilers. Within Europe all new boilers are to be the new condensing type that are not only more efficient but also do not release CO2 into the atmosphere. In our area we are being bullied into recycling by being given smaller bins.
