Can somebody give me an idea of what a one bedroom apartment would cost in down town Limassol? Nothing fancy, just a decent place, not touristy. It doesn't necessarily have to be down town, just not in the touristy part of town.

Thanks

Hi Wings,

As a first port of call, you could check out www.buysellcyprus.com

Alternatively, a cheaper option could be to look at the classified ads in any of the Cypriot Greek or English language newspapers. Nonetheless, the buysell website should give you a rough idea of what's available.

Thanks, this website is really good and I'm getting the impression that there are a lot of apartments out there. I am hoping to not spend more than 280 for an apartment that is fully furnished and is as down town as possible. From what I can see apartments seem to be cheaper down town than in the east part of the city, but I might be wrong. I am a recent university grad and I am looking for some....."student style" housing, so hopefully I will be able to find a place for less.......I guess I will just have to look around when I get there!

Thanks!

If you've got a budget of C£280 you should be able to find something. A friend of mine lives in Nicosia in a small apartment (with a massive veranda) and pays around £C250 per month. There are plenty of apartments about, you just need to shop around.

With the season in mind... it may be a good idea to keep an eye on what heating the apartments have. I suspect many of the rental ones in Limassol (and Larnaca) are more focused on the tourist season and so has no heating.

You can always use some aircon, or gas unit, to heat it up, but it is not the same as oil or storage heaters.
