my mum bought us a huge bag of them this year, you know, for all the meals and parties and whatnot over the holidays...and i must say, the cypriot potato is the best potato in the world.
They just go with anything!!!!
bit of a pointless post, but htey do deserve one i think! lol |

my mum is over from cyprus and c. potatoes BIG in our household right now. blimey, how many receipes can you have with potatoes? (don't get my mum started!) :lol:
Zan, where you living boy? On da East side, C.potatoes already cost a stack more than your average British spud. |

Yep! Shop at TFC in Leytonstone (but not where I live).
You can get a bag of Maris pipers for £3-£4 or Cyprus pots at over £12-£15. Big difference. |

but you are right.
I love potatoes in general and even though I do not usually cook I have a whole cookbook with recipes for potatoes only.
The ones from Cyprus are usually sold here in spring. The rest of the year we have 'ours'. Don't know the reason behind that. |

It's the same in the UK City. The big supermarkets source many of their potatoes from Cyprus during the winter as this is when the main growing season for Cypriot potatoes is. Although, given the drought and frosts this year, I don't know how many potatoes will be coming from Cyprus now. |
