My friend 100%cypriot. We are going through a very bad phase. Nationalism is on the rise. The south is in the grip of uprecedented nationalism right now. Many people decide to keep quite because they are genuinly scared. The nationalists rule supreme and those that dare to challenge them are persecuted in many different ways. For example, actors cannot find jobs or are expelled from popular tv series. Columnists, writers, researchers, who have something different to say from the conventional wisdom of the rulers, are persona non grata for all tv stations. They have erased them, they simply do not exist. If it were not for "Politis" we would not be exposed to anything different, other than yiorgadjism's propaganda.
Thus, in these dire times, anything heroic (like the platform) is hugely welcome. We hope that the word will be slowly spread and reach the poisoned souls and minds of our hapless, mislead people |

Everyone seemed excited about this thread, I've posted in another thread the progress of the UCP.
Intensive activities will be held from October 2007 and throughout 2008.
In October the biccomunal Aphrodite's Peace Band will held concerts in Athens, Constantinople and Lefkosia. The first phase of the Cultural Transformation Peace project will take place in March 2008. Summer of 2008 I am planning to organise a Eurotrip where a bus will tour Europe calling for a united Cyprus.
I urge everyone in this forum to join the movement. |
