Ethiopia has declared war on Somalia.
Its ironic that the 2 nations with the biggest starvation problem are at war with each other. Maybe Sudan should also join...
What a waste of human life. On the other hand, maybe this is what their governments consider population control. |

ethiopia has not as such a starvation problem.
ethiopia is attacking bc it views that the current shit in somalia could easily spil over in their country as well (see dafur spilling over to chad). at the same time the pro-ethiopian goverment in somalia suited ethiopias interests.
as in africa (just ilke the ME) borders were drown by the imperialist countries of the time, with no consideration of the popylation synthesis , any minority problem (or as I call it - lust for power from local elites) can easilly spill over to neighbouring countries.
its really difficult to take sides in such conflicts. if the rebels win the war, it is likely that they will cause as much blood and pain as the ones before. if noone protects the goverment side in somalia , it is likely that the rebels will simply kill them. on the other hand supporting the goverment might be as bad. since the UN is either closing its eyes (look at dafur) or cannot reach an agreement on what to be done (or even doesnt have the resources any more) , to bring a form of peace and settlement, it is not that surprising that ethiopia is intervening (to protect its own interests) |

the Islamists (as they call them, I don't have too much knowledge of whats going on in Somalia and who fights for what) have left Mogadishu without resistance and the interim government, which is supported by Ethiopia, has returned.
The news didn't have reports about chaos in the capital today but the population seems to be divided something like 50:50 in regard to supporting the government or the other side. |

| Africans was always mistreated from the westerns and now the Muslim pest (πανούκλα) is the only thing they needed to got mad and start a holy war but I can not just blame the westerns for their situation. The social structure is ridiculous and the power ones try to find excuses to conduct wars to become more powerful and the week people following them to have a piece of bread. The situation is tragic, they are living in a social Jungle and they are doing their best to eat them self’s like Hannibal’s. |
